Madeline | 80 comments I just finished Upgrade and actually found it kind of meh. I love scifi and Crouch's other books but this one did not do it for me.

I'm in the middle of The Change and I loved the first half but the second half so far is somewhat going downhill.

Elsa Carrion (ecarrion) | 710 comments It's really hard for me to get into it. Not a fan of it. But I have found some interesting items mentioned like how PR isn't considered or has representation at the capital. So no one to speak up for them or their island.

message 212: by Michelle (new)

Sounds very similar to one of the books I've read I just can't remember the title at the moment. Something like The Many Lives of ......?

But this one sounds a bit more confusing with 7+ story lines to follow and somehow they are all sisters? or are they just related. I might try to read it from the library but I don't think I'll buy it. Or I'll wait till I Trisha or Michelle or any one else in this group to let us know if it's worth picking up or not.

message 237: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 1892 comments I've read quite a few this month.
just finished Piranesi - I really liked it!

finishing up Girl, Forgotten (Andrea Oliver, #2) by Karin Slaughter

and getting ready to start: The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle by Jennifer Ryan

My netgalley list is out of control! lol I'm trying to catch up there too!! (and not download new ones. . .too much! lol)

Jennifer Hutchinson | 86 comments Trisha wrote: "My netgalley list is out of control! lol I'm trying to catch up there too!! (and not download ..."

Yea, I just started getting into NG and found out the hard way that when I grab a bunch of books it affects my feedback ratio. I also downloaded a bunch and then realized I was on a timer once they are downloaded. So, trying to clean up my NG but not fall behind further with BOTM, plus I've been looking forward to Daisy Darker and waited until this month. So far Daisy is so good!!

message 244: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 74 comments Finished The It Girl and just starting The Winners. I am so excited for this final book of Bear Town!!

message 245: by Trisha (new)

message 246: by Elsa (last edited Oct 03, 2022 07:23AM) (new)

Elsa Carrion (ecarrion) | 710 comments I'm so behind , even more than you guys. I haven't read any of the books I got in months!

I'm trying to stay caught up on groups that I participate in which give me no time to pick up these BOTM reads.

This is this months reads:
Blue Moon (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton , Cold-Hearted Rake (The Ravenels, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , Party, Potions & Peril by Beverly A. Rearick , Dark Nebula (The Chronicles of Kerrigan #2) by W.J. May , Falling For A Monster by Delilah Hunt , The Stroke of Winter by Wendy Webb , Pesos The Rise and Fall of a Border Family by Pietro La Greca Jr. , The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson , A Game of Retribution (Hades Saga, #2) by Scarlett St. Clair

If I put the petel to the metal, I can read 10 books a month, so I might be able to squeeze one BOTM this month.

message 247: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 1892 comments Those look like some good books for the month! Super pretty covers!! I hope you love them all!

and fingers crossed you can get at least 1 BOTM book in! lol

I know I'm really behind. I wasn't reading them too much for the first year or 2 I got them! So now I'm playing a bit of catch up both from ordering 3-6 books each month plus all my back log! lol I belive in us though!! We can do it!

message 248: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Hutchinson | 86 comments Elsa! That's quite a bit of reading there, I understand why you're behind on BOTM lol I read mine the month I got them for a few years and then with my health issues I had a horrible time concentrating, so that meant my reading went from 30ish books/yr to none or only a few. I kept buying books at the same rate (or faster if I'm honest, shopping was a good time passer lol) and now I've got so many books literally sitting on my book shelves that I haven't even touched except to move them to my new apartment. I agree with Trisha, fingers crossed you can squeeze in another October book!

and yea, Trisha those are all pretty covers! You gotta love pretty covers.

message 249: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Hutchinson | 86 comments I'm just about at the end of Daisy Darker and I'm so sad it's ending!! Feeney has cemented her place on my favorite authors list for sure.

message 250: by Trisha (new)

Trisha | 1892 comments Yes! I love Feeney! Auto-buy author for sure (ugh, and pretty covers! They get me in trouble every month - buying books or downloading from Netgalley! lol)
