This is a forever reading book. I love the lessons in the back, tasks for each day. They help so much to reinforce the ideas within the text. It is incredible to begin to "see" the world we can create by initially tearing down the one that has been shown to us. My favorite passage, "Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God."

I hear a lot of people say that books changed their lives. Doing the lessons and reading the text of this one really did change this life. Wow! Swear by it. Put it down for a while but have not put it away. This one saved me from the illusion of self.
I agree with you both. It's my book forever and ever. I've read the whole thing many times, did the Workbook 3 times. I'll keep re-reading it always. So many good quotes, but one I like is: "You are the dreamer of the world of dreams. No other cause it has, nor ever will. Nothing more fearful than an idle dream has terrified God's Son..."
Very much agreed on all counts. Sometime during the second round of lessons I had a 'shift'. Old thoughts and ideas fell away. It felt like a ton of bricks had been lifted. Light flooded through and I would never want to go back! I've put it down but keep it handy. "I don't know what anything is for" and "in my defenselessness my safety lies". Overwhelmed with gratitude for the work that HS does within continuously:)
Lori, I totally know what you mean. Love your quote, "I don't know what anything is for." It helps me in so many situations that used to be stressful.
ACIM changed my life too. Practiced the Lessons for a year and was amazed at what happened and how I began to see things differently. It truly is transformative.
A Course In Miracles is my way Home. Had the books since 1979. Though I have wandered at times, I always came back to The Course, because I have found nothing that compares to it. Real Love, real change.
My very favorite passage from The Course brings all my illusions to Truth at that moment, buttons the ego's lips fast and gives me peace: Wkbk Lesson 169, 5:4"We say "God Is" and then we cease to speak,
for in that knowledge words are meaningless."
Aaaaah...

I have only just returned to the Course after a few years where I had misplaced the book - perhaps intentionally... A few of my favorite quotes from A Course are the following:I cannot forget my need to teach what I have learned, which arose in me because I learned it. I call upon you to teach what you have learned because by so doing you can depend on it.
Where darkness was, I look upon the light.
Today I let Christ's vision look upon All things for me and judge them not, but give Each one a miracle of love instead.
This book was the beginning of a new life for me as well. After the first 20 lessons or so there was a feeling of unease, a friction almost, my old ideas rubbing up against these new ideas. Yet after moving on, a new world came into view. I will always attribute my true beginnings to ACIM.
I liked very much “a return to love”, which was recommended in the biography „to soften the blow“. That is how I came to the knowledge of “A course in miracles”.I just started and it is hard to read through it and I am also doing the lessons. I am on lesson 4. (These thoughts do not mean anything)
What I find hard, is to do just one lesson a day. I would like to do them all in a week and change my thoughts faster. But I suppose that is the point. I cannot change something in a blink what has been for years.
So I look forward to my future lessons and hope I will understand them and will experience great changes as many of you have expressed.
