These are a good cost But Lynn Cahoon KILLER COMFORT FOOD has a dog on the cover. It the sixth book but others in the series might have others. David Rosenfeld SILENT BITE has a dog on the cover with a candy cane in its mouth. I would be surprised to find a dead animal on the cover of a cozy.
Betty wrote: "I would be surprised to find a dead animal on the cover of a cozy..."That's just what I was thinking, Betty!
You could also try Amanda Flower's Amish candy making series or her Amish matchmaker series. Most of those have an animal on the cover, I'm just not sure if they are eating. Good luck finding the dead animal as well, that sounds like a hard one to find.
Can you be creative about the "dead animal" prompt? For example, a book showing a cooked turkey dinner?
Christine wrote: "Can you be creative about the "dead animal" prompt? For example, a book showing a cooked turkey dinner?"That is clever. I was thinking of antlers on a wall of say a hunting lodge or something

I almost used Silent Night, Deadly Night for last year’s Ultimate Reading Challenge prompt of ‘a bird on the cover’. 😶 (It is, however, book 4 of a series.)

You might also look for a cover with a bear skin rug, or a fox or mink stole/coat/muff — might be easier to find on older mysteries, though.
I recently read and loved the first in the Flavia de Luce series The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley.
I borrowed my copy from the Open Library for free. You can usually download and borrow for a couple of weeks. The cover of the one you borrow may be different, but it's all the same book.

That said, does anyone know of any cozies (or anything else for that matter) that have an animal eating something on the cover, are a standalone or first in a series, and are over 125 pages? Thanks
Also, another prompt on that same challenge calls for a dead animal on the cover. Same rules as in bold above if anyone knows any cozies or other books.
