Neesie | 889 comments Hello, I am trying to add a certain book we own to our shelves. It is an old Little Golden Book, and the copyright info is not robust, but from the bar code on the back I've got the number 3350092551, which I assume is the ISBN-10? However, on Goodreads, that takes me to a totally different Little Golden Book:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

That also matches what WorldCat says about that book.

Can someone help me figure out which book is the one we own? Is the number under the barcode not the ISBN-10? The one we have on hand should be one of these:
https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

Of the editions with images, none match the one we own, because they have prices in the corner that do not match ours. The one we have says 89¢ (with 307-44 written underneath) and the copyright page says "Copyright © 1948 by Western Publishing Company, Inc. Copyright renewed 1976."

Thank you for any help! I'm also wondering if maybe these old Little Golden Books came in big packs or something where several books fell under the same ISBN, because I looked that number up on Amazon and got two different Little Golden Books than the two I have mentioned here. Very confusing!

Recent bar codes will have the ISBN13. Old bar codes can have a variety of identifying numbers, but the ISBN10 is rarely there.

And yes, some of the old Little Golden Books shared ISBNs.
