Hmm i will say it hasn’t been like that in the my experiences with it, but they do offer bonus points for reading the Book of the Month, so there is sometimes a bunch of people reading the same thing. It seems like a lot of people are excited about the theme though... but I’ve never read any of those books so I can’t relate 🤣
Edited to add: hard to say for sure though without all the rules being posted! The rules sometimes have to do with the theme so I’m guessing they’re still working through that.

To follow up, the NBRC group opened up sign-ups for Tower Teams. Here's a link to t..."

APRIL MINI CHALLENGE ANNOUNCEMENT
Can you believe it's already almost time for the April Mini Challenge??? The announcement is here and pasted below.
Pump Up the Volume! And get your flashy (pink) accessories ready! April Mini Challenge
This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players. This month we are going to go through life as a teenager in the 80s.
Do you remember the fashion and the gadgets? Those really bright colours? *grin*
As a team, you need to read for the specified tasks that have been given to you. Some have to be done, others are optional but will gain your team more points.
◈ Your team has to complete 38 main tasks.
◈ For each completed task, your team will receive 10 points.
◈ For completing these 38 tasks, your team will receive 30 bonus points.
◈ There are 21 additional optional tasks.
◈ For each completed additional task, your team will receive 10 points.
◈ These optional tasks do not award a completion bonus.
◈ Tasks (main and/or optional) do not have to be read in order.
◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on April 15, 9am UTC (countdown is here) and before May 1 at 9am UTC (when the UNO challenge unfortunately ends).
◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books for what you are claiming for your UNO hands.

Are the Spell.outs using title/author/ any character from book"
Yes -- should follow the same rules as what we use for the cards!

Ha! Personally the A option is my vote too. But that could be because I know I can cover the TV shows one. Series substitutions are allowed, and the first Bridgerton book is on that list ... I'm in the middle of book 5 for that series now. I'll probably finish before the mini starts, but I have book 6 at the ready to read next anyway! :-P

Will this work for anything?
Also im reading/ have Stephen King books and they r all almost all over 500 pages if that helps. Just let me know .

Several things! If we did B it'd count for the neon list, but if we do A it can count for MPG Young Adult. I also did a text search and according to the Google Books page it supposedly has "neon," "walkman," "spandex," and "shoulder pads" in the text (you'd just have to tell me the location if you did read this and use it for one of those). Plus we have some bonus options for spell-it-outs too. So that will definitely fit in somewhere!
