Hi all,
We are all done with hands minus one color cover book we are waiting on! I wasn't able to place all of the books finished in the last few days in our main hands since we finished those, but everything has been put toward the mini challenge.
As far as the color cover goes -- we do have a backup in place, so no need to worry about that. We will make sure it's covered either way!
We only have 7 spots left for the mini challenge before we are completely done for the month! One of those spots I'm reserving for Gwen's read of Love in the Time of Cholera because it gets bonus points. The rest will be first-come, first-served by who posts here first.
You all have been an amazing team so far! We are almost completely finished with everything we need for the month and still have a full week left!

It should (hopefully) be a few days before so that we have a few days before it starts to plan -- if I remember correctly it's usually a few days before -- but really depends on the schedule of the mod in charge. As soon as I hear/see anything about them being posted, I'll let everyone know!

What did you think of it Diane?
I posted in the AOTM thread -- I liked the characters and the story, but was so confused with the plot. I had no idea who the 2 guys were they picked up on the ocean. And was that why Morgan took them there in the first place? How did he know he would find them. I didn't understand it at all. Loved Dog though! And I love how Grant and Morgan interact.
It just occurred to me that now would be a good time to get caught up on reading some short stories!

Yes only need to post how they fit the mini challenge! We have 10ish book surplus for the main hands so I think we’re ok to not post how it’ll fit into hands.
Please do at least pop on and say hi for the week though so I know you’re still here!
Also I just got word that March hands are posted — I’m going to check that out and then post about all the color cards and such here so we can start planning for that!
MARCH CARDS ANNOUNCEMENT
March cards have been announced!
For March, we will have 16 hands, 112 cards total. We have nine Draw 2 cards, so that'll be 94 books. Unfortunately the more Draw 2s the fewer points we can get, but that's the way the randomizer works sometimes!
Here are our color cards for March:
2 Yellow - Kimber
2 Red - Kimber
3 Red - Janine
5 Red - Janine
6 Red - Gwen
8 Red - Kaley
5 Green - megan
4 Blue - megan
5 Blue - Diane
6 Blue - Kaley
7 Blue - Gwen
We also have two Wild Draw 4 cards this month, but both of those are in hands that have a color card and a Draw 2 . . . so we don't need to read anything additional for those. I can use the color cover book for the Wild Draw 4 in those hands as well thanks to the Draw 2.
I also wanted to point out that 3 Red and 5 Red are also in the same hand with a Draw 2 . . . so if anyone has a red book that will work for both 3 and 5, that's one fewer one to fill.
I just had a blue cover book come in at the library, so I am claiming one of the blue ones it'll work for.
If anyone else wants to claim any of these, let me know!

I don't think this one is quite there, sorry. It looks close but I think too much black above and below the red -- combined with the white writing I don't think it's enough.
Edited to add: Looks like Kimber can do 2 Red though!
