Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments The year 2020 was memorable for many reasons; this article lists the top library systems with one million plus Overdrive checkouts. Where did your library rank?

Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments My county’s library is in the one million group. There are multiple systems servicing the area splitting and thus diluting the impact of the total.

Sandi (sandin954) | 1276 comments Indianapolis Public library is also in the one million group. I am so glad that we have this option. I ended up only reading e-books and audios after March of last year and relied on Overdrive and Hoopla.

Indianapolis also announced recently that there would no longer be late fees for overdue items.

Le Chuck | 31 comments Wow. Mine was in the 4 million category. Multnomah county OR. Pretty much all I read is digital loans these days!

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9510 comments One of the 2 systems I use is in the 2 million category. Boston PL is as well, which I don't use. The other I use isn't present. E-books are still my last choice when borrowing.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments Carol: My audiobook ratio from Overdrive is almost 3 to 1 audio over ebooks borrowed. I don't isolate by year, but I did start to shelve borrowed digital books separately a few years ago
My Kindle library shelving started in 2013, my audio Overdrive shelving started in 2018 when I completely stopped borrowing cd's and the Overdrive selection was expanding.
The current count is 320 Overdrive audio, 111 Kindle-library, a partial list of digital books I borrowed and read. A few are in progress or someday catch-up.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments Mine too, Le Chuck! I am grateful for Overdrive and the opportunity to try books I might otherwise not get a chance to read.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments Sandi: I rarely use Hoopla, but do for a few books especially graphic novels and magazines. It appears I have been less diligent shelving my Hoopla books. New motivation to keep up with that.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9510 comments Ann, if you are no longer listening to books on CD what do you listen to in the car? (when there was commuting, that is)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments Carol: in the car I connect my phone to the speakers via the auxiliary connection for either my podcasts or current digital audio book for seamless listening. It's great!
