I agree with this. Taryn should come and talk first. why should Jude always bend?
I am only in chapter 2, but I am glad Jude is standing her ground and is waiting for Taryn to come to her. But also, it’s been 5 months and Jude and Cardan still are distant with each other? I just want them to be together already LOL Holly Black really said slowburn huh

who did you guys think would this be? the first time I read, I suspected either the Roach or the Ghost.

as for Cardan, he can play in words but not betray since he's in her service.
when i read that, I thought Taryn tbh.... or Vivi since she’s bringing Oak back to the Faerie world and didn’t tell Jude. Also, the part where Nicasia was going to surprise Cardan LOL stop she’s lowkey cute awww
and at the end of chapter 5 when Cardan told her to kiss him LMFAO. Omg but you know what really got me? When Taryn visited her (with no apologies may I add) with stuffed animals. Taryn said that the stuffed animals and her both love Jude and neither of themselves want to be left behind. Then Jude hugs them and throws them in the fire and she says “I am no longer a child and I no longer need comfort”. I think it’s a major symbolism there. She loves the things in her past and she holds them dearly, but she is letting them go because she’s a different person now.
But also, I love Jude why can’t she take care of herself :( she is letting go of all the beautiful attributes of herself and she isn’t sleeping right and eating right. I wish Cardan noticed or have someone force her to take a break or look after her. She’s looking after everyone and, for once, I wish someone was looking after her :( I guess the Roach and Taryn did for a little while in chapters 1-5. Jude is too stubborn to listen, anyways.

oh yes! I very much like and agree with that perspective. I didn't like that Taryn didn't apologize but it's okay as long as Jude burned what she brought. and I'm in LOVE WITH HOW CARDAN ASKED TO KISS!
Yes I agree. Jude is too stubborn ..
i know! i love how Jude isnt too forgiving and she stands her ground. I’d be really mad if she outright trusted her sister and talked to her like the olden days. But I miss playful Jude. Jude who was still young, naive, and willing to learn. The Jude in this book feels almost too grown up. It’s like those 5 months she was away at war and came back damaged. I guess you can say it’s true. She’s lost everyone and all she has is power.
