The Guest List question

This has happened multiple times and it's very frustrating to me. I will go to update progress on a book I'm reading and goodreads tells me that it's been marked 'read' when, as in this case, i'm actually on page 16. At first, i thought i must be clicking something accidentally, so i've been VERY careful - i'm not clicking anything. I thought that my kindle was somehow updating goodreads so i turned that function off (though my kindle tells me i'm on page 16 or 6% through the book, not that the book is read so i can't imagine that goodreads was getting the update from there). Also the latest update seems to be from yesterday and i didn't read this book yesterday. Has this been happening to anyone else? I think there's a bug somewhere (the android app? the connection from the kindle to goodreads?) - how do i get this info to the person/team who needs to see it? - TIA.
