Helen (helen57) | 3412 comments And now we have just found out today that our granddaughter who lives with us is a close contact with someone with covid at school last Monday, it never ends hopefully she hasn't got it we will all get tested first thing tomorrow morning but they are saying that in our area it is taking up to 72 hours to get your results back, we have everything crossed that we will still be able to make Christmas lunch

The rest of our grandson's family have tested negative, so now we're wondering if his was wrong - a false positive. Fabulous news for them at least - hope they can find out that he's not positive after all!!

Fingers crossed for your results too!

Sorry to hear that Helen. Seems like it’s out of control once again. Will this ever end? 😫 So close to Christmas when so many want to be with their loved ones.

Fingers crossed Helen. I hope the tests all come back negative and your Christmas doesn't get derailed.

My son is waiting to get a second test next week after the first one was negative. He recently joined a new company and has been working from home but decided to go to their Christmas party to meet his new colleagues, one of whom later tested positive. At least he should be cleared before Christmas. I suspect there is a lot of this going on at the moment with all the Christmas/end of year parties.

Hopefully you'll be able to have a big family get together soon to celebrate the New Year.

We're also planning a bit of Zooming/FaceTime this Christmas to all our family in WA who we haven't seen for two years.
Our younger son has had his second negative test after a work colleague tested positive following the work Christmas party, so is cleared to spend Christmas with us. However, now our older son had an infected colleague at work and is waiting on his test results...
I'm sure there are a lot of families in the same boat with case numbers exploding here in NSW.

Thanks Carolyn, Helen, Brenda, Krystal, and Phrynne for welcomes back and kind wishes. Yes, indeed a lovely Christmas present for me to be home, especially once visitors were not allowed in the hospital at all over the past few days because of Covid. Stay safe all.
