(view spoiler)[ A lot of the book was pretty predictable, which doesn't necessarily bother me. I like to know it's going to end happily. I also really appreciated the fan fiction aspect of it. I love my fandoms, and I appreciate books that focus on that. There were so... plot holes for me. And I hate the trope where simple communication could clear up the whole problem. It's not my favorite. Overall, I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. (hide spoiler)]

I agree! The main problem with series 8 wasn't that there was no book to follow or that you couldn't see half the scenes due to lighting, it was that it was like the script writers/show runners didn't seem to understand the characters at all!

I loved this book, especially all the thinly veiled criticisms of the show runners, but I do want to know if there was a GoT actor who kept tuna in his/her pocket.
