Marcus is able to get out his own frustrations with his character through his stories, especially the ones that feature the internet’s favorite couple to ship, Aeneas and Lavinia. But if anyone ever found out about his online persona, he’d be fired. Immediately.

April Whittier has secrets of her own. A hardcore Lavinia fan, she’s hidden her fanfiction and cosplay hobby from her “real life” for years—but not anymore. When she decides to post her latest Lavinia creation on Twitter, her photo goes viral. Trolls and supporters alike are commenting on her plus-size take, but when Marcus, one half of her OTP, sees her pic and asks her out on a date to spite her critics, she realizes life is really stranger than fanfiction.

Even though their first date is a disaster, Marcus quickly realizes that he wants much more from April than a one-time publicity stunt. And when he discovers she’s actually Unapologetic Lavinia Stan, his closest fandom friend, he has one more huge secret to hide from her.

With love and Marcus’s career on the line, can the two of them stop hiding once and for all, or will a match made in fandom end up prematurely cancelled?

Finished (view spoiler)[I really enjoyed this especially the end and how he used the con to let loose his true feelings and get back his girl. The irony too that they should reconnect at the convention is almost too perfect. Really had fun with this book (hide spoiler)]

6% (view spoiler)[I absolutely love how this book was modeled after the response after the Game of Thrones finale. I could definitely see some references to it. Just noticing that in the first chapter drew me in, and now I can't wait to see where the story goes from here. I'm also interested to see if we learn more about April's job. It just seems really different from what we normally see in Contemporary Romance books. (hide spoiler)]

Basically everyone hated the ending because it didn't follow the character ARC at all. It was basically how they described it in Spoiler Alert! The show runners got a lot of backlash and the actors didn't love the ending either.

23% (view spoiler)[So far, I'm not sure how I feel about the book. Something about it is making it slower for me to read than usual. But..... now that Marcus knows that April is Unapologetic Lavinia Stan, I hope it picks up! I could see things getting a bit messy from here.

Also it was kind of funny watching Marcus try to act unintelligent throughout their date. I give April props though because I don't know if I could sit through that. But I loved how she managed to get him to break his 'character' a bit. (hide spoiler)]

34% (view spoiler)[Okay, that museum date was the cutest thing ever! I now want someone to take me on one. I feel like this was the first time we really got to see the chemistry between April and Marcus, and I'm all here for it!

It was also really disheartening to read about Marcus's family. At first, I wasn't really into that chapter, but towards the end you can see how unsupportive his parents sound and I felt for him. (hide spoiler)]

Yes, there was an excerpt in my copy, and it's actually like I guessed! It'll be about Alex, who has adhd and Laura(i think that was her name?) the babysitter/nanny/whatever, and that excerpt really got us started on a misunderstanding, so I'm pretty excited for it! (hide spoiler)]

Wow yeah that sounds great, although I can't really remember the side characters well at this point. :P And I listened to the audio so I'm thinking that's why I missed it. I really do love when characters have a disorder or something, makes them seem more real so I'm doubly excited now.
