I've really enjoyed Henry's dark retellings! I haven't read this one yet. And I actually haven't read any of her original work.

Cocaine Blues by Kerry Greenwood - If you like Agatha Christie mysteries, you will like this. Phryne Fisher is a "modern", Flapper of the 1920s in Austrailia. The author weaves a couple of different stories together, dealing with abortion and cocaine. Despite the dark subjects, it is not as heavy as it sounds. I loved book this and will certainly read more.***** 9/5/2021

That night, she falls asleep and wakes up 5 years in the future... with another boyfriend! **** 9/7/2021
203.
On Call in the Arctic: A Doctor's Pursuit of Life, Love, and Miracles in the Alaskan Frontier by Thomas J. Sims - Boy, I was stressed out when I read this, but it was a good story. This non-fiction story took place during the 70s and the author, a young medical student at the time, was about to be drafted as a M.A.S.H. surgeon in Vietnam. He is offered a position in Anchorage, Alaska and he grabs the opportunity. **** 9/8/2021

224.
Disney Cruella: The Manga: Black, White, and Red by Hachi Ishie - This graphic novel is made up of 3 stories of Cruella. Sorry, but I did not care for it. Little content, was labeled a Teen Graphic Novel, but I think it could have just been elementary or middle grade. There was just nothing there to sink your teeth into... Cruella was on a continual rant the entire book. Yes she was a Disney Villain, but there was no depth to her character. ** 10/2/2021

The historical fiction version of the diary of May Dodd is about a secret agreement President Grant made with the Chief of the Cheyenne Nation, Little Wolf. Close Encounters of the Third Kind by Steven Spielberg - This was the novelization of the same titled movie. I do not mind that seems to be taken almost word for word from the script. It did give me better insight into the characters. Roy and others from the book have a close encounter of the first kind (sighting of a UFO). This compels them to seek the truth and follow the bread crumbs that have been left behind in their mind and possibly have a close encounter of the third kind, an actual meeting. ***** 10/9/2021

The Viscount Who Loved Me: The 2nd Epilogue by Julia Quinn - A continuation of Anthony and Kate's story, 14 years later. **** 10/9/2021
