I had been going back and forth about this, and I think it would be fun! I'm a little behind on...everything in my life. (Including the 2020 reading challenge, which I kind of bailed on in the fall!) But here's a draft of 12 prompts I think could be fun for this year. Feedback and other ideas accepted until January 3, let's say, and then I'll "officially" put together this year's list.
1. A nonfiction math book by a person of color
2. A book about connections between math and biology or medicine
3. A book related to geometry
4. A work of fiction in which a character goes to a math class
5. A book with a geometric design on the cover
6. A math history book or biography focused on mathematics or a mathematician from Africa, Asia, or indigenous groups in the Americas or Oceania
7. A math-related book published at least 50 years ago
8. A biography of a woman in math
9. A math book not originally written in your native language
10. A math book that intimidates you
11. A math book you meant to read in 2020
12. A math book that makes you laugh

I ended up re-ordering them and slightly rewording a couple, but it's official:
1. A work of fiction in which a character goes to a math class
2. A math book published at least 50 years ago
3. A biography of a woman in math
4. A math book that makes you laugh
5. A book with a geometric design on the cover

Goodreads is giving me some trouble making new discussion topics. (Maybe I made too many too quickly?) But I'll get it all set up soon. Let the games begin!
