Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19228 comments I got a parcel the other day containing:

Redemption in Indigo
Breadfruit
Nightlife
Wolf Dreams

Then last weekend I went to a local park for my nephew's 2nd birthday. There was a new little library there, which I glanced at on arrival, and then thought "Naw I look rude. I'll check it out on the way back." Mum and I went on the way to the car to have a look, and on the top that wasn't there an hour earlier was:
Troy: The Siege of Troy Retold

I almost pushed her out of the way. No idea why, Greek classics is my thing not hers, but she did piss herself laughing at my massive gasp and grab.

LOL! Poor mom!

Nice haul.

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments I picked up The Master's Apprentice: A Retelling of the Faust Legend on Kindle for $1.99. It's available on Audiobook whispersync for another $1.99, but I decided to just get the Kindle for now. If I get a $5.00 coupon down the road from Audible, I will consider it then.

And on that note, got another book in the mail:
The Railway

LOL This group would be a lot less fun if she hadn't created said monster!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I purchased Winterkeep from Barnes & Nobel in ebook format. I wanted a couple of others - the new Nora Kelly book and the new Twilight one, but I can wait until the price drops or I am more desperate to read them.

message 67: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments There's a new Twilight one?

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Janice wrote: "There's a new Twilight one?"

Well, maybe not so new. New to me. Midnight Sun. B&N wants $17.00 for the ebook. Nora Kelly #2, The Scorpion's Tail is the same price.

Winterkeep was five dollars cheaper.

Apparently, there will be 2 more books after Midnight Sun.

The Scorpion's Tail in $12.99 on Amazon.ca which is a bit lower than it was last week.

I've put 7 books into my cart, but I will whittle them down and only get a few.

message 76: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19366 comments I just picked up two from the Audible sale. I will look through it some more, but I knew I wanted these two and my library doesn't carry them.

Have You Seen Luis Velez?
Elsewhere

message 77: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments I got 3 from the Audible sale. I had 7 in my cart at one point.

The Hollow Ones
The Neon Rain
The Good People

Suzanne | 15 comments Let’s just say, I’ve purchased atleast 50+ this month! 😳 I did sell a lot of books I never plan on reading at all or plan on reading again so all books on my shelves are either new series or books I will read again and again lol

message 79: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19366 comments Wow, that's a lot, Suzy! It must be nice to have a new, refreshed book shelf though, I bet.

message 80: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments I've justified my purchases this morning as a treat to myself for Valentine's Day. 🥰

The Kingdom of Gods
From Blood and Ash

Kristie | 19366 comments Audible US has a new 2 for 1 sale starting - https://www.audible.com/special-promo...

I noticed that The Pull of the Stars is in the sale and it's doing well in the poll for next month's group read.

message 83: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19228 comments I had a couple of parcels turn up in the past week:

The Music Teacher
Dirty Feet
My Urohs
A Fatal Grace

Sharon Hopper | 2444 comments As a child, I loved to go to my Great Aunt’s house on Sunday. While the adults played cards, I read book after book from my aunt’s bookshelves. (She belonged to a the Book of the Month club in the 30s through 50s) One of my favorites was Mrs. Mike. I never knew there were two follow up books until this week. I bought them both! Kathy Little Bird and The Search for Joyful

message 88: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments I'm still debating about the 2-1 credit sale. In the meantime, I picked up today's daily deal, The Bone Shard Daughter.

message 89: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments I decided on 2 books from the 2/1 sale:

The Trouble With Peace
The Poison Thread (also titled The Corset)

I grabbed a new release from Kindle - Wicked All Night

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Dawn - I thought Emperor Mollusk was a crack-up!

message 91: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (caveatlector) | 1797 comments Oh, that is good. I've been eyeing it for a while now, thought a sale was a good opportunity.

message 92: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19366 comments I grabbed a few books from the Audible sale.

Close Your Eyes
The Blackhouse
Cajun Fried Felony
The Murder of Mary Russell

The first two are fairly well rated mystery-thrillers. Craig and I share an account and both enjoy the genre so I just grabbed them because they were in the sale. The second two are part of series I'm working on. I am not even close to those books in the series, but again I figured I'd get them while they were on sale. I'll get to them eventually and be glad I already own them.

The narrator did such a great job! I might have to find it and listen again, now that you have reminded me. ;o)

message 94: by uncomfytomato (new)

uncomfytomato | 265 comments I noticed that Kindle has 80% sale on books so I chose The Rage of Dragons since Its on my list, I had to get the audiobook too! the narrations sounds amazing!!!!! for about 8 dollars (whispersync deal)

oh and I noticed the prices are different, on amazon the audible price is 12 dollar something but I couldn't buy it there (not sure why it kept rejecting) but I got it on audible.com for 8.49 so I guess I'll keep doing that

I think to get the whispersync deal, you need to first buy the Kindle on Amazon, and then buy the audiobook on Audible.com. I've never tried to buy the whispersync deal on Amazon.

message 96: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments I bought Audible's Daily Deal yesterday, In the Deep.

They have "Add Audible narration to your purchase for just xxx" under the kindle ebook, but it didn't work since it states Its not available in my region? Weird but I got it on audible so its okay

message 98: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60166 comments I'll have to check it out next time I do a whispersync. I wonder though.... if you buy it through Amazon, does the audiobook go into your Audible library so that you are able to listen to the book on your Audible app?

message 99: by Kristie, Moderator (new)
