I had an idea for anyone that likes to do challenges or would just like to have a buddy to read a book together. If there is interesteI will start a new folder. All you have to do is list a book you are reading or will be starting soon and see if there if anyone else that would like to read it along with you. For instance, I will be starting the new Obama book Promised Land soon, probably in a month. I would start a new discussion for just that book and anyone that wants to read it at the same time can just say they want to read it with me. I'm not sure how this will go so we will figure it out as we go.

I just read Truth And Beauty a few weeks ago so I could do that one with you. Let me know when you are ready to start.

Ken Brandt (kenbrandt) | 10 comments I am just starting "Genghis Khan: and the Making of the Modern World" by Jack Weatherford. The Introduction, which is as far as I have gotten, is really good. Anyone want to join me?

I am reading John Adams by David McCullough for another groups challenge. I can start a buddy read here if anyone wants to read it with me.

John Adams by David McCullough

Selina (literatelibrarian) | 3104 comments When it comes in, I'm going to read The Meaning of Mariah Carey does anybody want to read that one with me? I remember reading a memoir written by her first husband Tommy Mottola a while back Hitmaker. Apparently a disastrous first marriage for her and a short-lived second marriage for him.

I already read this one a number of years ago but I did enjoy it!

I'm not really a Mariah Carey fan so I will pass on that one.

I made a Buddy Reads folder so you could start your own posts but I dont see it. Does anyone else see it?

I read April Fools Day years ago, agree, it's a tear-jerker. I never got round to reading any other Bryce Courtenay novels though after 'The Power of One'.

No, that is not what I meant. This is just the thread to see if there is any interest. I made a new folder to keep all the buddy reads separate.

When I go to 'edit folders' it says there are 3 folders but when I look on the home page there are only 2. When I tried to add it as a new folder it says it already exists. I'm stumped.

Ha! I figured it out. I had to post a thread within the folder for the folder to show up. So go ahead and start some Buddy Reads!
