Welcome, Megan, so pleased to have you here. It is hard to be a lover of classics and not form a great attachment to the Brits, but we do get exposed to a lot of literature outside that here, so you are sure to expand horizons if you want to. Your active life sounds so appealing. I used to be an avid hiker, but never tried kayaking...sounds like fun!
Welcome Megan, nice to meet you as well. Warning, your want-to-read list may really expand! I have learned so much from this group. I hope you enjoy it.
Lovely to have you, Rebecca. You have come to the right place for reading your way through the classics.

My name is Laura and I have been enjoying Victorian/Regency era novelsˎ₍•ʚ•₎ˏ My favorites are Northanger Abbey and The Garden Party. I am pretty new to goodreads, currently exploring this page, finding new friends and books! Have a great day ahead all ✧*̣̩⋆̩☽⋆゜

I hope to read those classics that I didn't get to read when they appeared. So far this year, I've read Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, The Catcher in the Rye, Romeo and Juliet, Strange Case Of Dr. Jeckyll And Mr. Hyde: And Other Tales Of Terror and last but not least A Different Drummer
How great that we are growing again! My husband and I traveled for a week , and I came back to all these new additions to our group. Welcome to Angelique, Laura Leigh, and Rebecca.
Welcome, Joel. I recently re-read David Copperfield...lovely writer, Dickens. Lots of Victorian literature to be had with this group and anything else that takes your fancy.
Hello Joel, I am so glad you want to read with us. You are welcome to join any thread you like. I also really like Balzac, although I have only read two of his novels so far.

Welcome, Anjali. We are honored that you have chosen us for your first group. You have a lot of good reading ahead of you and this is just the group to help you pick your next great read.

Hello, Cat (I'm assuming we are going to be friends, so I take the liberty of addressing you so). Delighted to have you aboard. Hope to see you at the group reads, or if you have specific books in mind you want to read, you might ask for a buddy read. At any rate, you are sure to find lots of good books and anxious readers here, ready to share them.
Hello Anjali and Cat, welcome to the reading group. I am glad that you have decided to read with us. I hope you find many books here to love.

I'm currently reading Dracula, but hope to tackle War and Peace or Anna Karenina next.
Other books I'd like to try and get to this year (and next), in no particular order: The Woman in White, Wuthering Heights, Little Women, Jane Eyre, Far From the Madding Crowd, Picture of Dorian Gray, and The Count of Monte Cristo (as a re-read).
I'm happy to gather up more titles to read, so feel free to send me some of your faves, or add me as a friend. :)
Happy reading,
s.
Welcome, Savana. I think you will find Goodreads, and this group, addictive. You already have a stellar list of books to read. It will be fun to watch you tackle them and hear your thoughts. Check out our challenges, there might be something there that will help you remain motivated and chart your progress.

Besides classics, I read mysteries, romance, fantasy, sc-fi, literary fiction, some nonfiction - pretty much anything except horror and true crime (real life is scary enough!) I retired a couple years ago, so I have a lot more time to read. I read more in the last 12 months while stuck at home than I ever have, or probably ever will again!
Yikes, I see you also have challenges. I am a sucker for those, so will have to check it out. Sometimes I wonder how many more books I could read if I spent less time on GR threads and reporting on challenges!
LOL. A valid question for us all, Robin. Lovely to see you here...I love having all my friends in the same place.
Welcome Savana and Robin. This is the place to grow your To Be Read Lists! Join any discussions or challenge that you like. Our threads never close so you may comment on books even if those books are not a current monthly read. Nominations end on the 14th so check out the nominations threads, too.

Welcome to the group Robin! 😊
