Hi friends! My name is Megan and I am so happy to have stumbled across this group. I thoroughly enjoy reading classic books, some of my favorite authors are Austen, Dickens, and du Maurier, but I also read a lot of other types of books and try to read a variety of authors. I organize a Thursday Next book club (we read the classic books referenced in the Thursday Next books) and have loved catching up on the classics I’ve missed. Hi, I'm Angelique, a 53 year old mother from the Netherlands. I've been reading all my life but after joining Goodreads my reading has kinda spiralled out of control (in a good way!)

Hello! The name is Savana and I'm new to goodreads. I've always been a lover of all things classics related and knew once I stumbled on this group that it would be a great forum to explore the genre more deeply. My faves are Jane Austen, Kate Chopin, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I'm currently reading Dracula, but hope to tackle War and Peace or Anna Karenina next.

Other books I'd like to try and get to this year (and next), in no particular order: The Woman in White, Wuthering Heights, Little Women, Jane Eyre, Far From the Madding Crowd, Picture of Dorian Gray, and The Count of Monte Cristo (as a re-read).

I'm happy to gather up more titles to read, so feel free to send me some of your faves, or add me as a friend. :)

Hi, I am Robin from Madison, Wisconsin. I learned about your group from a similar GR group, The Readers Review, which I have been in for maybe 10 years now. As a French & English major, I have read a lot of classics, but never read Shirley or The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, which I see you are doing this summer. I also saw that I have over 20 GR friends in this group!

Besides classics, I read mysteries, romance, fantasy, sc-fi, literary fiction, some nonfiction - pretty much anything except horror and true crime (real life is scary enough!) I retired a couple years ago, so I have a lot more time to read. I read more in the last 12 months while stuck at home than I ever have, or probably ever will again!

Yikes, I see you also have challenges. I am a sucker for those, so will have to check it out. Sometimes I wonder how many more books I could read if I spent less time on GR threads and reporting on challenges!
