Welcome to the Group - Introductions
Hello everyone, I am a new member and just wanted to introduce myself🤗 My name is Selma, I’m from Norway and am studying in IT (kinda like Computer Science I believe)☺️ I’ve always loved reading since I was young, and am just starting getting into the classics! I am interested in psychology, philisophy, mythology and religion, and I really love a good romantasy as well🥰
Nice to get to know you all!
Welcome Selma. I'm sure you will find many classics that support your interests. Hope to see you in the threads.
I'm harboured up in the Welsh Valleys. I work outdoors, mostly on farms, walling, fencing, and general repair work. I was a focused on my rugby, but a knee injury has put me on the sidelines for good. In the off-seasons, when finance allowed, I took to the mountains: mostly Asia and the Himalayas. I took to reading whilst recovering from my surgery. It's becoming a big thing. As one door closes, another door opens.

Welcome and happy reading.
Hello, Everyone,I'm living in Glasgow for now. I'm heading south as soon as I can. I've stopped going out in the evenings: it's not safe.
Books are where I'll be for the foreseeable. Making friends would be good for me.

that's great! what genre do you play the most?"
I play for church services on Sunday, formal weddings and also funerals. It is mostly the church hymn repertoire, but I have also played a good bit of classical. My interesting new challenge is playing for bi-lingual services where there will be Spanish and English together in the songs. Good song tunes will match the rhythm of the words. Spanish and English have very different rhythms, so we must make adjustments when switching between the two languages. Thank goodness I don't sing!! Sometimes I play by following the sheet music - particularly on light classical pieces. I also play using the melody line and chords, making the arrangement up as I go.

Welcome, Amanda! Given your doctoral studies, you might enjoy Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass. Tho you might already be familiar with this gem, thought I’d mention it. Happy studies!
Welcome, Mitch! You might enjoy John D Burn’s The Last Hillwalker, or really anything by Burns! Some vicarious climbing.
Hi everyone! I'm Beatriz. I've been in a bit of a row of reading mostly genre fiction (which, hey, not apologizing for - there's a lot of great SFF out there). But I think I'm ready to go back to my classics now, even on a part-time basis. Looking forward to sharing them with you all. When I'm not reading I'm a dog and bird mom, I practice medicine and I lift heavy things.

Hi, I'm fumbling around in European Modern history at the mo'. I hanker for thrilling reads but shy from today's melange of preposterous, shoot'em up, sex 'em up, save the world tack. I'm looking for thrillers (not limited to fiction) that has roots in the real-world and asks you to think about what is happening.
Hi all, my name is Silvia. I’m a new member from Oregon/USA. I’ve been stuck in a rut reading the modern writing that follows the same formulas (it’s ok every once in a while ) and I’m anxious to get back to reading the classics again. I’m looking forward to recommendations/discussions. Thanks!
