Welcome to the group.
Hello, my name is Morgan. I am a big reader but have not read many classics and feel it is time to tackle some blind spots. I figured with seeing all the activity in the group that this would be a good way to help keep me motivated. As I am not a huge classics reader and want to ease myself in I figured I may try a group challenge and read a few of the monthly titles as they grab me. I look forward to this group.
Lovely to have you aboard, Morgan. You have come to the right place to wade into the classics and find others to share the experience.

Delighted to have you, Vickie. Hope to see you in the threads. BTW, not too late to join in a challenge or two, if you have an interest.
Long time lurker in this group stepping forward to say hi! I’ve always enjoyed the classics and revisit them to read with my kids. Looking forward to joining in on some of the discussions.

Hi Christine! I lurked for a long time too and just started participating last year. It’s been really fun! Lots of great discussions. :)
Nice to meet you, Christine. I do a fair share of lurking on GR myself, especially when I am new to a group. I'm glad you decided to take the next step and hope to see you on the threads!
Hi there! I’m Thom and I am from the UK. I have recently started reading for fun and I am currently reading my first classic: Frankenstein. I am very interested in reading more of the genre as well as getting to know some of you here and sharing reading experiences. Feel free to say hi!
Hello, nice to meet you all! I'm Samuel and I've been a long time lurker around here but never got involved. Since I plan to go off to uni to study English Literature and History, I thought now is a great time to jump and get involved with the group. I adore reading many classics and hope by doing this I'll be able to get a few more under my belt.
Glad you have come out of the shadows, Samuel. :o) I think this group is a great way to amp up for your future studies. Good luck in school and happy reading!
Samuel, welcome to the group. Join in with any thread you like. I hope you enjoy the books and discussions.
Hello all!! My name is Barb, and I am a 20 year old English major who loves all think literature, poetry, etc!! Very excited to be here!! Currently reading Wuthering Heights!! My favorite color is pink, I am an ENFP and a Libra, and love Taylor Swift, climbing trees, going on adventures, cats, singing, writing, and daydreaming in a scenic location!

Hello Barb. I hope you enjoy the group as much as I do. Feel free to join in any discussion you like. Threads never close although we have four monthly reads going and a long read that are usually more active.

Hello all,I’m Jayson. I have had goodreads for a while but haven’t had the time to really look into it. Now I do. I came across this group because I really want to get back into the classics and see what other people are saying about them. I am mostly into fiction of any genre and like to read historical nonfiction as well. I believe classic literature can be a time capsule and help us learn more about ourselves in relation to today’s age. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the titles I mention. Gonna try to read at least three classic books a year. Would read more, but I have to make room for other genres and my writing. But if I can, I will. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome. I like your description of classic literature as a "time capsule". Recent books I have read that felt like time capsules are Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe and Twice-Told Tales by Nathaniel Hawthorne. I look forward to hearing more comments you make. Feel free to join any discussion thread that you like.

Hey everyone! I'm MJ! I am a big bookworm and a definite introvert. My favorite classic is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. I'm 18 and besides reading, I like to bake, draw and play the ukulele! Looking forward to reading some great classics with you all!
