Thanks!! I know that it deals with heavy topics, but I think it will be very important and I'm definitely going to read it.

steph (bunnykult) i read it awhile ago and idk i think its one of those books that was revelationary at its time but now its just kind of meh? i think now in these times there's just way better books about racism to read but i know alot of people do really love it so ig its worth reading to see where you stand on it

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 121 comments I read this book in middle school and liked it. It's pretty good for a required reading.

I bought this book recently, but I have read reviews saying that it shows that White people are saviors of Blacks, and that Black people are weak and need protection from Whites.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I've heard that too. I'm interested to see what it's like

I haven't read it, but I have to read it for summer reading for next year, so I guess I'll read it then :) I heard it's really good, so I'm hoping I'll like it!
But honestly, school's probably going to ruin it for me cause taking notes and writing essays kinda sucks the fun out of reading for me 😂

yeah, I have to read it next year or the year after for school and I feel like analysing every sentence will kinda ruin it.
