I am really waiting to hear more about her back story and the whole back story of why the gods have to do all this. I really enjoy the story, but the suspense is killing me! I don’t trust anyone at this point & I really need to know more about their back stories!
I expected Cas not to know about how he killed Apollo, I kind of feel like Apollo went to him and made him kill him or something, but that’s probably not true. Seriously want to know aaah (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ there’s just so much action in this whole book, damn! Castor & Lore finally kissed, which made me happy. She’s kind of losing herself, especially after finding out that Gil was Hermes. I am still confused about that; is Hermes not dead?
I still seriously don’t trust Athena (nor Miles, I’m not sure why). I have this theory that she has never actually made the vow, because she’d never bind her life to a mortal from what I’m seeing. She barely helps Lore; when Lore’s fighting (and her life is in danger), she lets her deal with it herself and just stands by???? I mean, if your life depends on her life, you wouldn’t let ‘a mere mortal who can’t do anything’ fight for herself, would you? Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t trust her, because like someone in the book said, she is only loyal to herself. And her killing the Reveler wasn’t really necessary, which makes me feel like she wants to get all of the gods out of the way too, so she can become the ultimate god like the wrath wants (hide spoiler)]

I hate how every chapter ends on such a cliffhanger because I can’t put the book down 😂😭

(view spoiler)[ I'm not gonna say anything besides I KNEW IT. Ugh. Didn't expect Athena to be the reason that her family is dead though, that was intense. Can't wait to finally hear about where her shield is! We at least know she can use it from that little throwback chapter.
I also feel like Castor hasn't killed Apollo, I feel like Castor actually died and was a god after all or something like that. It sounds even weirder typed out than it does in my head lol (hide spoiler)]

Review: Oh booyyy this was a wild ride! Definitely took a while to wrap my head around what the feck was going on, and it was pretty info dumpy, but I'm just glad I have prior knowledge about Greek mythology.

This book was definitely on the more graphic gory side, and while yes there's a very few past present time jumps, it works so well and it wasn't overwhelming. Alex really knows how to write them twists! :o And not just at the ending either, but throughout, she always had me guessing!

I feel like the ending was wrapped up rather quickly, but for the size of the book and the font, I feel like there were definitely enough words in it XD It's so nice these days to see more fantasy standalones, as it's so much less of a commitment, and less future re-reading XD

I feel bad for Lore now that she knows not only did Athena betray her, she’s also the one who slaughtered her family like a serial killer 😢 This and Castor walked away from her, my heart 💔 What’s worse is how the guilt of leaving that window open will stick with Lore. Was her simply asking the gods for it to end all it took? I mean technically all the old gods are gone and she did save the day but I’m skeptical. After such a lengthy book I’d have liked a more solid end, an epilogue could have done wonders. It was a really good read, maybe to lengthy at times and a bit complex, but really good nonetheless. I couldn’t agree more. (view spoiler)[I did not see much of the darkness coming especially to the details of the torture her little sisters went through. Also the end really was too quick after such a long book, it could have used an epilogue bad. Even just something cheesy like a poem about the Agon ending and how the two humans lived HEA or some shit 🤣🤣 (hide spoiler)]
