Gary Cann | 22 comments The first one I've finished is 'The English' by Jeremy Paxman, which is a sure pointer this challenge won't be done in any order. Paxman's book is a must for anyone who wants to understand what it is to be English - or just have a laugh at our idiosyncrasies!

Gary Cann | 22 comments An update on having finished the second book in my challenge: Clive Cussler's 'The Chase', a good page-turning adventure, which is what you'd expect from Cussler.

Gary Cann | 22 comments Two additions to my challenge since I posted last: 'Planet Hay' by Huw Parsons, a fascinating glimpse into the life of Hay on Wye and 'Dandelion Wine' by Ray Bradbury, a wonderfully evocative semi-autobiographical novel set in small town America in the summer of 1928.
