I'd like to here the thoughts of anyone else who read it.

As JoAnn noted, the old comics help bring a lot of context to the story. Marvel's Epic Collection has all of the Dawn of the Jedi comics and it's are available from ComiXology via Amazon for $10, or a hard copy for $30 HERE.

General Information
Published May 2013 by Del Rey. Currently available in mass market paperback, ebook/Kindle and audiobook. Into the Void is a tie-in to the Dawn of the Jedi comic series from Black Horse Comics, which had fifteen issues. The novel includes the short story "Eruption," which is a prequel to the book. The events of the novel occur 25,793 years before A New Hope in what Legends calls the "Before the Republic" era.
How to Read Into the Void
Ideally, a better understanding of Into the Void is experienced if read within the context of the Dawn of the Jedi comic series. This is the suggested timeline of content.
- Dawn of the Jedi: Force Storm comprising issues 1-5 of the comic series.
- "Eruption" short story.
- Into the Void chapters 1 and 2.
- "The Adventures of Lanoree Brock, Je'daii Ranger" journal entry from Kindle Daily Post.
- Into the Void chapters 3 to the end.
- Dawn of the Jedi: The Prisoner of Bogan comprising issues 6-10 of the comic series.
- Dawn of the Jedi: Force War comprising issues 11-15 of the comic series.
Of course, just reading the novel is totally fine. It follows the tale of Je'daii Ranger Lanoree Brock from Tython (the same planet we see in The Mandalorian) as she tries stop a potentially cataclysmic event.
As noted above, your thoughts and opinions are welcome. Let me know if you have any questions or if you spot an inaccuracy above.
