I thought Sheriff King wanted to make an arrest, even if the kid wasn't guilty. Sounds like he liked to take shortcuts. I was surprised the new ADA wasn't more upset at King. He seemed to put a lot of the blame on Morgan.
This threw me immediately back to my original opinion of him. King didn’t seem to mind jailing innocent people. This kid didn’t send the picture, which was already established. And jailing the kid? Again, over the top. Nothing “old school” about his behavior. He was just a bully with a badge.
He took King’s word for it. But Susan, that’s a good point. If he’d just looked into the confession he’d have questioned more.
Yeah, this is when my opinion of him changed. He wasn't interested in getting to the truth. Can I just say I am really disappointed in him, lol! I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in the last book *sigh*
I know, Lauren. He had the chance to shift my opinion in this book (I’d decided to give him a little benefit of the doubt) but this sent me into orbit.
