This thread is open for discussion beginning January 1st! Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed (mark as a spoiler) in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days of the month can be used to catch up if needed! Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads.

I want to join but there's a wait for the audiobook at my library and I don't want to read the ebook. I really hated Stalking Jack the Ripper, which I read on ebook, but I'm hoping that a few more years of writing experience and switching up the format will help me enjoy this one more. So if I do join in, it'll probably be after everyone else is already done reading it lol

I ve read the first two chapters and I love the story so far, and the love Emilia has for cooking and the descriptions about it. It made me drool at the start on the second chapter hahaha.
I'm curious about the story and the world! The map on the first pages is so intriguing~

I'm really loving this book and how close the sisters are!! I've always wanted a close sibling. I love the protection spells they did as kids and I'm definitely considering using it at home!

I read the 2 chapters. I love the sisters as well and the story seems interesting but I hope it will get more fast paced.

I think it will get more fast paced in a few chapters!
I really love this book and I'm buddy reading it with my partner too, and we both want to read more than 2 chapters a day.
The relationships between sisters is so cute, though Vittoria is hiding something...

@Bopeep you guys can read more than 2 chapters a day, only if you are commenting something from a chapter that we haven't gotten to put it in the spoiler tag. With all praises the book is getting after two-four chapters I'll probably read more chapters too 😃

I finished ch6 and I am sad about what happened but I think now the story will pick up and I don't think I will stop here so here the spoilers come 😂

I finally picked up the book. I didn't catch up to today's chapters, but I read the first three.

I don't remember if I read the synopsis for the book or if maybe it was an auto-click when I saw it's by Maniscalco, either way I didn't know much (close to nothing) about the book except that there's Wrath *shrugs*. So I'm pleasantly surprised we have witches and princes' of hell. I'm loving the family vibe.

This is the first book I've picked up and read fully for about 3-4 years (not including books I've had to read for Uni). No future spoilers included, but I loved how the characters were written and how I re-discovered that feeling of 'just one more chapter'.

That's nice! I'm really enjoying it too. I love not just the characters but the world building and the plot. Ivve reached today's chapters and ooommgg I want to know more about what the hell (pun intended) is happening here.
Do you have any theories? I want Emilia to search for Dominique and the fratello because they seem suspicious...

I finally convinced myself to pick the book back up and I'm enjoying it so much! I planned on reading chapter 20 and stop.. but that didn't happen and I'm starting chapter 25. If I don't finish it today, I probably will tomorrow.

I was surprised by the appearance of vampires. and I wasn't so sure how I felt about it because I thought the book is going to be witches and sins.. but I like it, this means the world Maniscalco is building is only getting bigger. I love the mystery on this book! Ivm still on chapter 20 but there are a lot of questions I want to know about. I really want to know about the tattoo ewe

So, I am on chapter 33. There is this one thing that is annoying me about Emilia and I don't think it's a spoiler, so I will just share. I am getting annoyed that she keeps circling back to Greed being guilty. It's like, you barely know him or any of the other princes... and I get it's because she doesn't have many suspects but the repetitiveness of this is irking me. Other than that, I am still enjoying the book!

Hm... I think she need to blame someone, and Greed is like the sin of sins, so he must be the Prince or mostly King of the Wicked. Also, Wrath says that he works for Greed, and that he asked the girl to marry Greed.

wait wait, wasn't Wrath working for Pride?

Wrath worked for Pride. I get that she needed someone to blame but you can really tell how she ignorant she is in everything. I think her Nonna did her an injustice in keeping secrets. I get that she was trying to protect her but I think keeping them in the dark did more harm than good.

I am frustrated with the Antonio situation. I had suspicions that he would play some role in all this... but I kind of felt like how HBO did me with season 8 of GOT and Daenerys... just such a sudden change with no real build-up to who he ended up being...
