same xD
okay so if I have my review in GR format can I put that into the netgalley review box or do I have to format it normally and copy-paste that?
LOL I already sent it in with the link to my GR reviewthey can just look at that i guess
but thanks, I'll do that for the next one!
formatting shit doesn't work on netgalley or edelweiss as far as i know, the best way to go about it is to put your review in, take out any and all formatting, and put in a link to your goodreads review, or if you have a blog :)

I've had the ARC of You've Reached Sam for the longest time and I know it's going to break me.So what do I do?
Add 23 books to my TBR in hopes of forgetting it till the last minute.
omg right? i don't know if i'm going to be able to deal with the heartbreak, so as much as i want to read it asap, i don't know if i can bear it and am putting it off because ✨procrastination✨
human wrote: "omg right? i don't know if i'm going to be able to deal with the heartbreak, so as much as i want to read it asap, i don't know if i can bear it and am putting it off because ✨procrastination✨"Ugh, yesssssssss.

It is possible that it isn't downloading correctly....what kind of device are you downloading it on?What happens if you click on it in Netgalley shelf?
Also, have you tried a different phone? Maybe downloading that kind of file is beyond the device's capabilities?
It is also possible that your identity might not have been verified through ADE or Netgalley completely
BookDuck | Maddie wrote: "It says import error failed. Please try again later"Oh! This happened to me and I contacted Netgalley.
They gave me the option of waiting for it to get fixed or reading it on Adobe Digital Editions.
I ended up reading it there.
it's been doing that to my phone as well. try going to give feedback, click on the title, and if it's still (ie, hasn't been archived yet), there will be a button that says 'download protected epub/pdf'. if you click that, you can download it and open it in digital editions. hope this helps!
BookDuck | Maddie wrote: "It says import error failed. Please try again later"Oh I had this same problem! I just sent the book over to the kindle app on IPad instead of using NetGalley and then it worked?
lmao i think i wasn't really clear when i sent that last message, so here's something with a bit more explanation and some pictures to help :)when trying to download arc's on the netgalley app, i've noticed recently that there's an error popping up with some arc's. since you've attempted to download it, the arc then goes to the give feedback tab, and it seems as though you can't download it anymore, because there isn't a download link in the start reading tab. there is, however, a workaround for this:
1. locate the book you want to download in the give feedback tab. make sure that it hasn't been archived (second date in the row):

2. then, click 'give feedback'. it'll take you to the feedback box. from there, click on the title in the corner:

3. finally, you'll be led to the arc's page. if the book isn't archived, then you'll see a row of options depending on how the publisher has uploaded the book to netgalley. you can click 'download protected epub/pdf', and open it in the adobe digital editions app:

hope that this helps resolve some of the issues we've been dealing with, and i'm going to be emailing the app developers soon so that they can figure it out completely :)
make sure you copied the image link and not anything else. it should end in a .jpg or .png or something like that
LyraFirefly wrote: "make sure you copied the image link and not anything else. it should end in a .jpg or .png or something like that"yeah, i know, i fixed it :)
OMG CONGRATSi have too many but i take too long to write book reviews so i’m thinking of not requesting any for a few months 😭
THANKETHI should do that but I went on a spree a while ago with the thought that I would never get accepted so we'll see what happens with those.
sooooo I just emailed a publisher for the first time.... AHHHHHi'll probably get ignored but who knows? at least i did it😅
oh god, the adobe digital editions app on desktop is horrendous. absolutely atrocious. nasty. detestable. appalling. disgusting. terrible. i hate the ui with everyone atom of my being. but at least it gets the job done and doesn't improperly download arc's. *cough*netgalley shelf app*cough*

I just requested The Ivory Key, Bright Ruined Things, and The Ballerinas on Netgalley and they all look AMAZINGbut I'm suspicious of "The Ballerinas" because they compared it to "Dare Me" which was a piece of disgusting problematic trash
Susana wrote: "@human have you tried using the Kindle app to read arcs? it's SO much better than Adobe"Sometimes you only have the NetGalley Shelf App option *pain*

I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THIS OH MY GOD
And everyone else too, good luck!!I have 6 arcs to read and review at present, and I'm currently not making a dent in the list....by I think I'll request some other stuff today if I see something interesting ( read pretty covers)
I doubt any of you will know the answer to this because all of you are amazing at this, but I was getting arcs for blogging and then I kind of fell out of blogging because I was stressed, and now I have like five arcs that I didn't review. They all came out a few months ago, and I'm not sure what to tell the publisher and what to do about the fact that my reviewing rating is like 20%. Any ideas?
as someone who has a feedback ratio of 32% and 77 unreviewed arc's (please don't ask), the only advice i can give you is to read and review them anyhow. you could always contact the publisher about your situation, too
