l a u r a ♛ wrote: "wait brooke didnt u already review one though...?"Yeah! And that was why it was at 100 then it dropped to 0 the next day!
I might have figured it out!I didn't get approved for it, it was in the read now- so maybe it only counts books you have to get approved for?? Which is odd...

well if it's in the 'feedback sent' section then it should've been accounted for...
LuminescentFirefly wrote: "Enala Sanders?"Brooke wrote: "I can't find you Lanae!"
lol, I didn't want to give away my real first and last name. then my dumbass realized I can just put "Lanae" as my first name and "Anne" as my last name. it was a rough time, okay?

that is very odd. I wish I knew how to figure all that out, but I'm more lost than you.

It's fine! I don't blame you! Enala is so pretty! I love Lanae Anne better but Enala is so creative :)
Brooke wrote: "Your bio looks great Lanae! I'd add your number of friends, followers, and genre preferences!"that's a good idea! thanks!
I have another question, how do I read books on Edelweiss? I have a laptop, and I tried to follow the instructions on how to read books on Netgalley, but it didn't work. now I'm hoping and praying that I can learn how to read books on Edelweiss because that's the only other place I can read ARCs.
try downloading and using the 'adobe digital editions' app. it's really the only way, unless you have a kindle. make an adobe account if you don't have one already (it's free lol don't worry), and sign into the adobe digital editions app on your device. then, you can open up edelweiss and download the arc to your device. i'm pretty sure you can also use the adobe digital editions app to download netgalley arc's, but i'll have to check on that. hope this helps :D
Yeah, and if you're using Mac or Windows, then oyu can install ADE, if not, then you can do like I did (i use linux) and download the app on your phone, then open the book on the phone(meaning you verified that it's you) then connect your phone to the laptop and open your phone's files on the laptop, find the book, and then open it through calibre
human wrote: "try downloading and using the 'adobe digital editions' app. it's really the only way, unless you have a kindle. make an adobe account if you don't have one already (it's free lol don't worry), and ..."Yep, you can use ADE for Netgalley too, but I haven't used it

human wrote: "try downloading and using the 'adobe digital editions' app. it's really the only way, unless you have a kindle. make an adobe account if you don't have one already (it's free lol don't worry), and ..."And don't worry if it takes a while to figure out the app!
thsi advice is so good. I really appreciate it because I couldn't figure out how to download ADE, and then I started crying for no reason which was so annoying. but yeah, I just downloaded the AE file, so I just have to ask my dad to download it on my laptop, and I'll be good.
LuminescentFirefly wrote: "How long does it usually take your ARCs to get approved or declined?"like on netgalley and edelweiss? for me, i guess it depends based on the publisher. bigger publishers usually take longer to get to you. like for harpercollins, i'll request something and then they'll decline me a month later ;-;
katie wrote: "LuminescentFirefly wrote: "How long does it usually take your ARCs to get approved or declined?"like on netgalley and edelweiss? for me, i guess it depends based on the publisher. bigger publishe..."
a month? that's a long time. if they're going to deny my request, at least do it quickly so we can get it over with.

i know right??

Both? I requested on both and it's been a week since I did it on Edelweiss
LuminescentFirefly wrote: "katie wrote: "LuminescentFirefly wrote: "How long does it usually take your ARCs to get approved or declined?"like on netgalley and edelweiss? for me, i guess it depends based on the publisher. b..."
like katie said, it really depends. sometimes i'll hear back on the same day. on the other hand, i have arc's that i requested in june and still haven't heard back from 👀
when yall download netgalley books, they "expire" (i can't find a better word XD) after like a month right?? or is that just me…?
l a u r a ♛ wrote: "when yall download netgalley books, they "expire" (i can't find a better word XD) after like a month right?? or is that just me…?"I don't know! I've only read one NetGalley book and I sent it to my Kindle!
LuminescentFirefly wrote: "How long does it usually take your ARCs to get approved or declined?"Normally a week to a month on Edelweiss and so far on NetGalley a few days or weeks. I've noticed that I get a response on popular books sooner. There was ONE time when a publisher approved me within an hour so that was fun!
speaking of getting approved, I got my first book declined! yay! I was really excited to read it, but I knew that it may be declined from you guys' experience with ARCs.
Lanae Anne wrote: "speaking of getting approved, I got my first book declined! yay! I was really excited to read it, but I knew that it may be declined from you guys' experience with ARCs."Which book? I know the feeling!

this novel called "Fresh". It sounded so cool, and I was super hype to read it and review it.
Brooke wrote: "If you ever need some request recs I'm happy to give some!"well, can I have some request recs now? I've just been going to YA novels on Netgalley and Edelweiss and finding ones I like.
Edelweiss:Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard
The Paris Apartment by Kelly Bowen
The Second Season by Emily Adrian
Daughter of Sparta by Claire Andrews
The Other Side of Perfect by Mariko Turk
You've Reached Sam by Dustin Thao
These Hollow Vows Lexi Ryan
Counting Down With You by Tashie Bhuiyan
The Immortal Game by Thalia Rothschild
NetGalley:
Mercurial- it should be an auto-accept book!
Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon
Ace of Spades by Faridah Abike-Iyimide
Blade of Secrets by Tricia Levenseller
Spells Trouble by Kristin Cast
The Devil Makes Three by Tori Bovalino
The Infinity Courts by Akemi Dawn Bowman
Counting Down With You by Tashie Bhuiyan is also on here
I've been declined for most of these *wince* Good luck!
if anyone's looking for a romance, i'd say request The Secret Bridesmaid and The Dating Dare on netgalley! (haven't read yet but they both sound so good :))
thanks, Brooke for the list! I'll come back to this like Thursday or over the weekend so I can check these out and request them.
Lanae Anne wrote: "oh yeah, i requested "you've reached sam". it sounds so cool, and I really want to read it."hope u get accepted! ahhh i want it so bad
