hey y'all, i just got sent an email from 'rivka holler', one of the marketing people for st. martin's press. anywho, it was an invitation to read the tragedy of dane riley on netgalley. so when i opened it up, it said

"The publisher of this title has not approved your email address to view this title. Request the title, or learn more."

so i was wondering if any of you guys have gotten this email/if something similar happened to you?

i haven't, but it might be something like advertising? Like telling you there is this book out here, and you should read it? But in the end, you have to voluntarily request a copy, so you can only read it if you request?

FIRST OF ALL I HAD A MENTAL BREAKDOWN

THEN I DOWNLOADED ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS, CREATED AN ADOBE ACCOUNT, SIGNED INTO THE APP, DOWNLOADED THE ARC, AND OPENED IT USING THE DIGITAL EDITIONS APP

IT WAS A BIT OF A HASSLE BUT HOPEFULLY IT WILL WORK FROM NOW ON?

@em, well for me, it depends on the publisher. if it’s harpercollins, i don’t even get a response.

other publishers like simon and schuster have sent me physical arcs, so they should be easier to get arcs from.
