				 Hi everyone,
Hi everyone, My name is Sam van der Vlugt, and I’m 26 years old. I am originally from the Netherlands but I am living in Italy now to do a PhD in European and international tax law.
Regarding books I try to read quite a lot of fiction, and already wanted to read more from different countries around Europe so after I saw this initiative on Facebook I right away wanted to be a part of it since it might push me a bit outside my comfort zone.
My favourite books are mainly (historic) novels or philosophical novels, with sometimes a bit of poetry.
Kind regards,
Sam
 Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,Great initiative! I am croatian living in UK, working in data world.

 Hi!!
Hi!!I am Flaka, I am 22yo, and I live in Vushtrri, Kosovo. I have a BSc in Ecology and Environmental Protection, and currently, I'm studying for an MSc in the same field.
My favorite genres are fantasy, contemporary, literary fiction, poetry, and magic realism. I also have a deep love for classics and post-modernism books.
I am so glad to be a part of this group, and I hope we will get the chance to find and read great books.
 Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,I am Xheneta from Kosovo. I have finished my Bachelor studies in Psychology at the University of Pristina in Prishtina, where I live. I have done a semester abroad in Lithuania, and have visited some European countries.
I don't really have a favorite genre, I'm always exploring new books and I'm looking forward to exploring new books here. But if I had to mention some of them, I'd make an emphasis on: (psychological) thrillers, mystery, (historical) fiction, fantasy, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, mental health, poetry, science, and contemporary.
 Hi everyone!
Hi everyone! Thanks for inviting me to this group.
I’m Seto from Indonesia. I work as an iOS developer in Stockholm. I’ve visited several European countries since I moved to Sweden 2 years ago. I always love European history. Now I’m more into EU from the economic standpoint.

 Hi all,
Hi all,I am Emira and I originally was born in North Macedonia, lived a couple of years in Kosovo as one of my parents is from there. I moved out of Balkan some years ago to pursue my masters in Computer Science and Logic. After my master studies I started working as a software engineer in Berlin. It goes without saying that I like European history and studied it in school, so I must be honest that I was deliberating a bit if I should join the group or not, but I am glad to see many of you and hear your stories, so looking forward to read more from what we haven't already read or know about it. I used to read a lot of fiction stories in the past, only fiction such as drama, thrillers and crime. However, in the recent years I have been interested more into psychological books and non-fiction as to challenge myself and broaden my horizons. Lately I have taken interest in biographies. Happy to be here and glad to read from many of you.
Hi guys, my name is Maddie, I am from Romania, I am 32 yo. I lived in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest Romania. I also studied in Bologna Italy for my masters. I am living for the past 6 years in Czech Republic working in Networking for a corporation.

Hello! I’m Helen and I live in Lincolnshire, England with my husband and two children. I studied languages (French and Russian) many years ago, and now work as a freelance translator, so I have read quite a lot of French and Russian literature, although there is still plenty I haven’t read as well. I’m a bit of an armchair traveller, really, and love reading books of all kinds from all over the world – classics and modern, long and short, light and serious. Although I won’t manage to read the March book in time, I look forward to joining everyone with the April book, when it is decided.

Hello everyone! Nice to meet you.
Hello everyone! Nice to meet you.My name is Joana and I'm from Andorra (actually, that's how I found out about this group, looking for a group related to my country!). Nowadays I'm living in Portugal, completing my Master's degree in Mathematics teaching. I hope we can all share and learn about our cultures and their literary Patrimoine!
As for myself, I enjoy reading almost every genre and try always to read a book in its original language (if I can comprehend it) so I can feel exactly what the author wanted to transmit. However, if I had to choose one, I guess my favorite language would be Spanish since it's the first one I learned.
Later on, I've been reading only technical books, but I'll try to combine them with other literature on this journey with you! :) Even if I've joined the group a bit late, I'll catch up from now on! :D
Hi Anetq, from Copenhagen, Denmark (though I have also lived in Berlin/Germany and Reykjavík/Iceland) I've always read a lot of European lit, but mostly from west of the former iron curtain, so trying to catch up on the eastern parts here as well as discover the stuff that doesn't hit the hit lists.

Thanks, Anetq, for pointing out Dalkey Archive Press as a rich source for more unknown titles esp of contemporary literature! They also have a podcast with interviews of various authors and readings from certain novels.

Hello, I'm Kerstin, 46 years old and I come from a Germany. I studied sociology and now work in an office. I love to read, and I read a colorful mix of fiction, crime fiction, New Adult and non-fiction, as well as fantastic literature.
I don't know yet how well I can cope with our reading and writing in English. so please check my slightly grammatically incorrect sentences.

Hi Kerstin, welcome to this group and please don't shy away from contributing only because of "slightly grammatically incorrect sentences" ;-)

Hi, I am Minka from Romania. I saw this group and I thougt, it would be interesting to get to know places and countries through books :)
Hi, I am Minka from Romania. I saw this group and I thougt, it would be interesting to get to know places and countries through books :) My days are kind of multilingual: I am working as a german teacher for children & adults, I talk to my family in Hungarian and to my colleagues in Romanian. Similar are my reading habits, I`m reading books in German, Hungarian and Romanian: mostly classics, contemporary literature, children's books, but my favourites are biographical novels. Hopefully I'll get motivated to read in English too.

Hi Minka, welcome to our group! And what an interesting mix of languages you have on offer!
Feel free to nominate books (biographical novels have not yet been nominated that often) and join our exchange of thoughts in the discussion threads whenever you like.

Hi everyone! I am retired and live in the United States on an east coast island. While I earned a MBA for career reasons, the most enjoyable studies were in history and anthropology during undergraduate school. The first time I traveled abroad was to Europe (of course!) then Africa. Since then, my husband and I have traveled to various parts of the world and were disappointed when we had to cancel a trip to Egypt during the pandemic. I have always felt the pull of global citizenship and believe we are most fulfilled when we see ourselves as one part of a vital whole. With that, I’m delighted to be a part of this amazing group of readers who seek to learn about different cultures in Europe. I look forward to listening to your ideas and getting to know you through your thoughts and discussions about the books we read. A special thank you to the Moderators for keeping this group organized and moving forward.

 Hello!
Hello!I am Juuso, a 16-year-old guy from Finland!
My reading taste can be quite broad, but I usually enjoy graphic novels/manga, romance and overall books with lgbtq+ representation. Recently, I have been trying to read books from different places around the world (as most of the books I read are set either in USA, UK or Japan. To be completely honest, I am not even too experienced on Finnish literature!) So, therefore, I am super excited to get new book recommendations on European literature!
Glad to be here!!<3

Hi all, I'm living in London. As every month comes there are fewer and fewer pennies in my pocket: I’ve only myself to blame, I voted…….. Staying in is actually more enjoyable than I first thought: books, books, and more books appeals.
Please friend me: I'm little and shy from saying boo to a goose.

So Hi! I'm Jehona. I was born in Rijeka, Croatia. I grew up in Ulcinj, Montenegro. I did my BSc studies in Albania, MSc in Finland, and I have just started my PhD in Norway. So, I have moved around Europe a bit.
I mostly read fantasy and sci-fi, especially when I am feeling sad or bored or tensed. So, I'm not very good at reading serious literature. This is a bit outside my comfort zone. I hope it will be fun.
What about you?
