Nomination Process & Rules

Here's how nominations will work going forward (starting with March 2021 Group Read):

Each person is allowed one nomination. Only Star Wars related books are allowed (Legends, Canon, Non-fiction, Comic book collections). Some months nominations might be limited to a certain type of SW books (e.g. Legends). Please include (and preferably link to) the title and the author in text.

If you want to nominate a book that is part of a series, it has to be book 1 or you have to explain in your nomination post why it could be read as a stand-alone or it has to be another book in a series that's already been read as a group read before.

If there's too many books nominated we'll cap at first 7 books. If there is fewer than 5 nominations mods can nominate additional books.

Nominate only books you're willing to read. If your nominee wins you're expected to participate in the discussion.

Timeframe: Nominations will be open 2 months before the group read, and will run for up to 3 weeks.

Polls will be posted after the nominations are closed and run for 2-3 weeks for everyone to register their vote.

When a poll ends in a tie, mods will pick the winner. The other book will automatically get nominated for the next group read.

The group read will start on the 1st day of the month.

This is a fantastic idea. I'd tinkered with suggesting this, but I did not want to impose.
