The story begins with Sean’s confrontation with Duke about his decision to leave RCK and take a consulting job with Colton Thayer, his friend and mentor from college. While it was Noah’s decision to not include RCK in the undercover assignment, Sean supported it. Was that a mistake or was it prudent on Noah’s part considering the stakes were high in trying to snare a US Senator?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments This was a very sensitive assignment and, really, the fewer people who knew the better. I think that Sean underestimated how badly his brother would react.

I understood the decision, though RCK was expert at covert security. But, once Sean had to compromise an RCK security system, they should have re-thought it. Even Sean knew Jaye would probably figure it out.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I think, with Duke's background, that he would have been discreet about the operation. But, with that said, I support Noah's decision because I think Duke would have tried to get involved and push Sean out.

Oh, I think you may be right about that, Melissa!

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Sean is the only one who could have done this operation. He had the in with Colton. If Duke had gotten involved, in any way, it would have been a red flag to the baddies.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments Very true, Anita.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments RCK does covert security. They're used to keeping secrets. I think Sean could have told Duke the truth and asked Duke to "fire" him to make it look convincing. I really can't see Duke trying to insert himself into the investigation. He would have felt a little better knowing Sean wasn't going back to his old tricks.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Well, yeah, that could have happened, but where is the drama in that?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments True.

Great point, Robin.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I felt like Sean knew there was still some doubt about him in RCK especially with Duke. He wanted to prove himself to his brother and agreed with the conditions that Rick and Noah gave him.

I felt bad that Duke's first response was anger.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I agree, Sharon. I was so sad that Duke reacted so badly. I think it made Sean sad too. It was like Duke still viewed Sean as reckless and that must have hurt.
