Hello Eileen! I started this book as I am trying to have enough time to read and enjoy my buddy reads for January. I’m doing it slowly and will be posting updates regularly. Looking forward for your thoughts on the book.

Hi! I have a copy on hold at my library and will read it as soon as it comes in...I didn't read this when it came out as I didn't see how it could live up to the hype. Guess I am finally ready to find out if it does!

I guess the hype is mostly for the young generation. Does that mean I'm getting old? lol. I'm still waiting for a twist to happen.

I read mainly romance and this book was on ALL of the blogs that I read when it came out. It seemed almost everybody raved about it and when that happens, I just find it hard to believe the book will be that good. My hold is in so I will begin reading soon!

I think this is overhyped for me. The story is just okay but I like the ending although it was kind of predictable. I don't think there can be a better ending that this one. It's a 3 star for me. :)

I finally made myself read this book (I have hesitated since 2016 because I didn't know how it would live up to the buzz it generated - it was on so many end of year "Best of" lists) so I could know once and for all, would this book live up to what had been promised OR would it be a dud leaving me sad?

I LOVED it!! The banter, the deep dive into Lucy's psyche, the putting-in-his-place of Josh's father, this book did a great job of checking a lot of the rom-com checklist while subverting my expectations just enough to feel fresh and witty. This was a smart romance which I appreciated. I read it in one go and was sad to have finished and yet so satisfied with where we left the characters. Many times after I finish a romance, I wonder if they will be able to stay the distance. I have no doubts that Lucy and Josh will make it to their golden anniversary with lots of laughter, sexy times and epic arguments (which they will enjoy making up after). (hide spoiler)]

It is always a satisfying feeling to check a long-time resident of the TBR pile off the list. Thanks Alyana Pearl for suggesting it as a buddy read this month!!
