Q1 2021: Group Read Book Choices

I have three recommendations for you on the theme of immigrant experience, written by immigrant writers. Which one would you like to read?

Alina Bronsky: The Hottest Dishes of the Tartar Cuisine / Die schärfsten Gerichte der tatarischen Küche
Olga Grajsnowna: City of Jasmine / Gott ist nicht schüchtern
Pierre Jarawan - The Storyteller / Am Ende bleiben die Zedern

The title with the most votes on Monday 4.01.21 will be the book we will read. In the event of a tie, I have the casting vote.

I enjoyed Bronsky's Baba Dunja book so much. A group read would be the perfect excuse for me to buy 'The Hottest Dishes of the Tartan Cuisine' :-)

I also vote for the Bronsky book, as I just asked for it for Christmas, so I'll own it! I'm looking forward to reading it.

2nd choice would be the Pierre Jarawan book.

Ich glaube, diese Gruppe las schon letztes Jahr "Das achte Leben" gemeinsam? Ich nahm damals noch nicht Teil, hab das Buch aber auch letzes Jahr schon gelesen - und fand es seht gut!

Ich habe auch gutes von "Die Vermessung der Welt" gehört - ich hab ein anderes Buch von Kehl hier, "Ruhm", habe es aber noch nicht gelesen.
