Christopher D. Ochs | 24 comments I'd be pleased if you would review my latest YA urban fantasy/horror novel, My Friend Jackson.
My Friend Jackson by Christopher D. Ochs
"An ancient guardian chose her.
Neither the guilty, nor the innocent, nor she are safe.

Jasmine Price's days are filled with emotional, physical, and cyber abuse at the hands of her new school’s queen bees. Jasmine latches onto Bibi, a grandmotherly figure from Tanzania, and her beloved pet chameleon, Jackson. Violence toward Jasmine escalates to a murderous level, until a monstrous force intervenes with deadly consequences. When she discovers the secret behind her unholy avenger, Jasmine takes the offensive, becoming a merciless force more terrifying than her worst tormentors.
But choices have consequences. Some more horrific than others."

Valentina | 11 comments Hi Marian
Blurb- They raised the lid of the coffin and looked inside. The shroud of clouds that concealed the moon parted for a brief moment, allowing them to see what lay underneath, waiting impatiently for them.

The world that you think you know is in fact a giant asymmetrical cobweb, with each of its strands interlinking every single event to the others. Hidden in the dark corners of this web, lurking beneath its sullen shadows, is the obscured presence of a power that orchestrates all the worlds, weaving newer threads to drag its victims deeper into what remains of the primordial masterplan.

Can you foreshadow your future to evade the closing pincers of the forces that were in play even before the origin of life? Are you brave enough to venture inside and find out? If you think you are, I invite you to be prepared for a turbulent ride through the rugged trails of horror, mystery, fantasy, and love, into the womb of the mystical ‘Dominion of the Valentines…’

Here is the blurb:
Death is not an escape.

One night Ezra Adkins is brutally murdered in her own home. As she was dying, she expects to wake up in the afterworld.

She was wrong.

She loses consciousness and awakens into a horrific game of kill or be killed. Players can be killed an infinite number of times, but the only permanent way out of the game is their actual death by suicide.

Players in the game ruthlessly hunt each other for points, while others kill for fun. Most players have given up on finding an escape from the game and spiral into insanity, killing without reason.

It’s mayhem.

Ezra soon learns who to trust and who to hunt down. But as she falls deeper into the game, she starts to lose herself as the bodies pile up. The line blurs between what she’s always known to be right and wrong.

Metal will clash. Blood will spill. Minds will break. And before it’s too late, Ezra must find an escape from the game before she becomes the real enemy.
