What does the main character in your book need? Why? What does he/she want? Why? . . . In my book is not main character, its a book full of small tales, but if a character need something it has to be Fortunato from "The cast of Amontillado", he needs more company from someone else, because he must have someone to talk and spend some time in others stuff.
