Henry Sturcke | 456 comments I'd like to add A. D. Nock's book, Conversion, to my "To-Read" shelf, but there is a problem. There are two listings for this title, the one referenced above: https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...
and this one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
The problems are these: 1) the first listing has the complete title, the second doesn't. 2) The edition I own (1933, Oxford) isn't among the iterations in the first listing. 3) The first listing has the author's full name, which is nice, but in the original edition, he is referred to by initials (A. D. Nock); 4) the second listing lacks publication details (Oxford University Press, 309 pages). I think it would be nice if this could all be combined under the one, full title, and the publication details added to the 1933 edition. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

Leilin (leilinbooks) | 1787 comments I combined it and tried to update the quasi-empty record from what you said, however I was unable to find a cover online for the original edition: if you have the book and would like to upload a photo/scan to your profile, like you did for another thread, I could add it to the page :)

Henry Sturcke | 456 comments Great! Thanks, Leilin.

Since my copy lost its dust jacket sometime in the 87 years since the book came out, I have created a jpg of the title page and uploaded it to my profile. I've done this previously with a couple of other books. I think the old-fashioned typography on some of these books is as interesting graphically as a dust jacket.

Leilin (leilinbooks) | 1787 comments I have seen old books be updated with a picture of the hard, solid-color cover, open flat so that the spine of the book was in the picture too. I am not sure if using the title page is accepted, but maybe another librarian could chime in about this option, for old books?

Henry Sturcke | 456 comments That would be fine with me, too, Leilin. I could supply such a photo. But I'll wait to see what the consensus policy is.
