Sure and i'm doing ok Susan
Oo! I’d like to join in the next sprint. I have around 30 pgs left of “The Rules Magic” by Alice Hoffman!

I love his books. Cant believe he is gone

I was always a mystery and romance reader until about 2 years ago my daughter left a book on my bed and it changed my whole reading perspective and I love fantasy and pretty much everything I can get my hands on. I'm always on the lookout for a good new series
I have been branching out some more. Until last year (or 2016) I had no idea what a cozy mystery was. Now I love them.
Danica- one of my bingo squares is a book on magical realism and I looked up your book and it's listed magical realism. Is it good?
Susan - I’ve enjoyed reading it. Alice Hoffman’s writing style can get a bit too dreamy at times, though, so in the middle of the book I kinda got tired of her style mostly because there wasn’t much action going on in terms of plot. “Practical Magic” was just the right page length, whereas this one is a bit longer than I would’ve liked. “The Rules of Magic” is the prequel to “Practical Magic”, btw.
It's more lighthearted mysteries. There usually isn't a ton of blood and gore. Maybe considered PG13. There are a few other things that make it a "cozy". Usually the story takes place in a more small knit community setting and the detective is usually not in law enforcement. There's usually a craft or trade involved. For example: a story could take place in a small New England town where the local floral shop owner finds herself figuring out the clues to a recent murder in town. That kind of thing.
I lied, I'll catch the next round. I had a visitor come into my room...a one week 2 day old visitor. My grandson Luca :D
i'm working on my second book of the year
yes, i want to go again. i want to get as far in my book before bed
With the exception of a quick snack break, I'll be reading for awhile. NJ is buried under snow so I'm not going anywhere. :30 for 20?
