Matt smiled, she was eager, young, smart, good head on her shoulders and beautiful, she was the one he was looking for, but he wasn't sure if it was for the job or something more. he smiled and stood up and walked around the desk. He offered her his hand, "Well you will just have to tell your sister that you got the job," he said with a smile. "Congrats Miss Abigail, you start bright and early tomorrow," he said as he watched her face light up.

Abigail leaped to her feet and hugged him instinctively. Whenever she got good news she forgot her head. "Thank you! thank you! Thank you!" she pulled back with a smile and looked at him then she realised what she had done. "Oh, no! I'm sorry. Please don't fire me." She picked up her things quickly. "I better get going." she said her face hot with embarrassment. "Bye." she didn't bother looking back. She had to get out of there before he fired her even though he had just hired her.

Matthew was shocked when she leaped up and hugged him, that wasn't what he was expecting but then again she was young. He smiled and shook her hand when she pulled away. He was going to tell her to be here bright and early tomorrow, but she ran out so quickly. He hoped she knew what time to show up, because she was gone out the door before he could catch her. Watching her head out the gates from the porch he smiled.

He turned on his heels and headed up the stairs to her father's room where his mother and brother were already waiting. His father's physician was already up there, he had arrived in the middle of Matthew doing the interviews. Walking into the room he smiled to his mother, hurrying over to hug her and kiss the back of her hand. "How is he?" he asked his brother.

Abigail run out quickly. She’d even forgotten to ask him what time she should be there. She sighed and decided to get there at dawn just to be safe. She didn’t want to disappoint him on her first day. She walked briskly to her sister’s school and decided to wait for the girl outside the gates. She remembered going there. She missed it a little but she had to put the important things first.

Jackson looked up when his brother walked in. He smiled gently on seeing him. He hoped his brother had found someone that pleased him. He shook his head at his brother’s question. “Not any better,” he said sadly glancing at his father and then at his mother. “His fever went down a little but that’s the only thing that has changed.” He looked at his father with a frown.

It took awhile for Gwen to get out of school, well at least it felt like forever. When the last bell rang she was the first one up and out the doors. She was still expecting to see her mother waiting on her, but when she walked out to see her sister standing there her face and heat fell a little. She could tell her sister saw her face and smiled, "It's not that I'm not happy to see you," Gwen said as she wrapped her arms around her sister. Abby knew what she meant and hugged her tightly.

Matthew nodded and hugged his mother, "Its going to be okay," he said to his mother softly before he motioned for his brother to talk with him over the corner. "I found someone to take care of the house so mom can have some free time. She will be here tomorrow so you can meet her and so mom can meet her too," he explained to his brother.

Abigail smiled widely when she heard the bell and saw the students start to file out. When she spotted her sister she waved but saw Gwen’s face fall. She bit her lip nervously on seeing this. She understood how much Gwen missed their mother. She remembered their mother always waiting at the school gates for them and she would have loved nothing more than to see the woman’s face right then. She sighed and hugged Gwen tightly. “How was school?” she asked softly.

Jackson nodded at Matthew’s words. “Okay good.” He glanced over at their mother. He was glad that she was going to have someone to help her out. She was looking more tired day by day and he didn’t want to see her burn out. He had even had to get one of his colleagues to prescribe her some medicine just so that it could bring some life back into her. ‘It will be a big help for her indeed. Will she be any good at the job?” he asked his brother.
