Title: The Keys Are Being Passed: Race, Law, Religion and The Legacy of the Civil Rights Movement
Author: Jonathan C. Augustine
ISBN: 0-615-99577-2
Publisher: ROM Digital Ink Press
Publication Date: May 4, 2014
Format: Paperback

The Keys Are Being Passed celebrates the 50th anniversary of the American Civil Rights Movement through the interdisciplinary lens of law and religion. It draws a parallel between how Jesus, in Matthew 16, built upon Jewish tradition by passing “the keys” of responsibility to the apostle Peter to establish Jesus’ legacy in the Christian church. Just as Jesus gave the keys of legacy and responsibility to Peter, the interfaith leaders of the Movement are similarly passing on the keys of legacy and responsibility and challenging the current generation to accept them. The Keys Are Being Passed honors the Movement’s interconnected legacy of law and religion, while also challenging its readers to accept their keys of responsibility in contemporary areas like voting rights, environmental justice, and education reform.

Marrick | 3 comments Thanks, Philip. You are right, but when I did a search for it, I was unable to locate it. Did you find it by author or title when you searched?

Philip (burnnerman) | 5913 comments I searched by ISBN.

If you had searched by author it may not have shown, since it was missing the period after the initial.

Philip (burnnerman) | 5913 comments I do see now that I try it is not being found by title or author. I will see if I can figure something out there, but if not it may have to be reported to support.

Philip (burnnerman) | 5913 comments I re-entered the title and the author name, and it appears to be searchable by either one now. I am guessing there was some sort of weird invisible special characters causing the issue.
