Fran | 710 comments 34.) Black Mesa (HB) - Zane Grey 4 stars
35.) Chrystal and the Sea Larks (PB) - Crona Temple

The original title of this was "Sea Larks" and was published it 1895. I purchased it to use for our homeschooling English last year, and since I'm trying to clear some shelves ;) I picked it up to read and was plesantly delighted.

42.) Wuthering Heights (AB) - Emily Bronte

(I also read Hamlet; The Young Reader's Shakespeare by Adam McKeown. It was an excellent edition geared towards children, that tells the story in chapters, like a novel. I wasn't sure if it would count. Will someone let me know please?)

Fran | 710 comments Hello all, quick question: Does Georgette Heyer count as a "classic"? I think I've seen other posts featuring her name, I just wanted to double check.

Not sure, as I don’t know much about that author. See what year she wrote it. (Heena says pre-1950s in the first post for this Challenge.) I know we accept Agatha Christie as classic Mystery. Georgette Heyer could be classic Romance, though. Perhaps Dagny knows more and could give her opinion?

Fran | 710 comments Thanks Cheryl. I will check it out. Either way it works for my first author run and historical fiction:)

Fran | 710 comments 46.) Graphic Cannon Vol. 1 (PB) - Russ Kick
This is a great way to condense a great number of classics into bite sized pieces. It's a bit or piece of a classical work told through illustrations. Now typically I'm not into Manga or comic strip art work, but this is a variety of artwork by modern artists. Be warned it is not a typical size (more of a coffee table piece) and over 500 pages.
47.) These Old Shades (AB) - Georgette Heyer (This was originally published in 1926.)

Fran | 710 comments Dagny, I picked the shorter ones to read but the longer ones were audio books. I was hoping to get a solid 60 in this year but there are so many books I'd like to finish this year with, that I doubt I'll manage.

Fran | 710 comments I think we've all upped our reading since last year, I'm hoping for great things for 2022 (and not just in my reading challenges :)
