Is this book reliable? I think not.
E.g. 1: Bethman-Hollweg was "born scared." The comment in medias res (1915) is not justified by any detail of the man's earlier experience and is not relevant to his predicament in 1915. It hints the whole book may be contaminated by Monday-morning judgments.
E.g.2 a photo of German cavalry in Poland in August 1914 -- but in snow, which is not known in Poland in August. Neither author nor captions editor spotted this howler.
