To separate one edition from all other editions: at the end of each edition is: details - edit - separate.
Via separate you can separate that edition from the other editions.
To separate more than one edition from the other editions. Go to the combine page, at the end of the editions is a link: separate tool. In the separate tool you can separate one or more editions into a new work.

The librarian's manual says that regular librarians can make these changes, too, although anyone who does it must be careful.

I have separated the two Kindles from the paperback, but cannot merge because apparently there is a bug at the moment and some edits cannot be saved. So it will have to wait.
