Wild Write #001 Challenge - Shorter than Short Story

Let's get writing!

For our first Wild Write challenge, I'd like you to write a Shorter than Short Story . This means that within as few words as possible, you will need to come up with a story that follows a few rules.

It should become clearer once you start...

The first challenge rules are:

1. Plotline: The story needs to be about someone finding something that they shouldn't have.

2. Character: At least one character needs to be afraid of the found item for some reason.

THE WATCH (67 words)

(view spoiler)[Maximus was crawling through the attic. He knew he shouldn't be there, but something called to him. In a small wooden box a glow emanated. Trembling, Maximus opened the box - a gold watch. Fear took hold - his grandfather appeared in the reflection.

Maximus dropped the watch, as the reflection spoke, "This is my watch, boy! You never touch it!"

He raced out of the attic in tears. (hide spoiler)]

THE FORGOTTEN

(view spoiler)["You shouldn't have that boy!" The gravelly voice shouted. "That's the master's!"

Fear took over and the boy attempted to run. BANG! BANG! BANG! He fell several metres from where he started. The rest watched on in stunned silence. (hide spoiler)]

"We... We shouldn't have touched it, Bruce - the coin is cursed." Richard shuddered, as his partner brought the coin down.
Suddenly, the cavern rumbled.
"We gotta get out!" Richard screamed in sheer panic. "Leave the coin!"
"No! I worked too hard to..."

This is a great beginning (or end) to a story. The characters surnames wouldn't happen to be "Wayne" and "Grayson" would they? ;)
