The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
question
What was your overall thoughts on this book and who is your favorite character? Would you like to see this book get adapted into a movie?

This book, hands down, are one of my favorites. The characters are unforgettable, but one character in particular I liked was Evelyn! While reading the book, I felt that she went through many changes, and her growth throughout the book was so beautiful. Also, I would like to see this book get adapted into a movie; it would be interesting to see! For the most part, I would be curious.

I would like to see this book made into a show/limited series. A movie wouldn't be long enough to develop these characters and give them the attention they all deserve!
I NEED THIS TO BE IN A 7 - 8 EPISODE SERIES AND I NEED THE GIRL IN THE QUEENS GAMBIT TO PLAY EVELYN
i said what i said.

I thought to myself after reading this book that It would make a great movie. I would go see it 100%. It was a great story with a lot that could be done to turn the story into a real life movie picture. I loved this book and honestly my favorite character was Harry Cameron, almost all the characters within the book disappointed me in some way, but Harry was always a stable and loving friend. One of the only true friends that Evelyn had in her life and after in Hollywood.
I don't ever want this book made into a movie. It would be much better to turn it into a series. Every episode could be a husband. This way, all the important details can stay and none of the beautifull moments in this book dissapear
it's evelyn but monique got strong and influenced by evelyn's life that made her grow as a person. I WOULD LOOOVE for this to be adapted as a movie
I would love to see this book made into a movie. They already have a restaurant/lounge made from the theme of this book in Dallas, TX. A movie would be perfect!
yes, I definitely want to see this book turn into a movie. The character that I look up to is that of Evelyn Hugo. Her life was not easy and not everyone can fit in her shoe, her life shows all the things that a movie star or any famous person has to deal with. You become a recognized face, and you have to be in a way that audience wants to see.
I liked this book , I liked the author writing and this was one of the first books i ever read and was interested in the story and the characters. i think it should be adapted iinto a tv show better than a movie.
I loved this book, it was the first of the 3 Taylor Jenkins Reid books I read. My favorite character was without a doubt Harry. I then read Malibu Rising (2/5) and Daisy Jones and the Six (3/5) and was pretty disappointed.
This book was phenomenal. Having to hide and change so much of herself just for a career was heartbreaking. However, the way the story was told-every character was woven perfectly into the story . The perfect quilt giving the story of a young woman wanting to make her way in the world. She did it her way up until the end.
Would rather see it as a series than a movie but really I would watch anything I’m sure it would be amazing as a movie!
i agree with everyone saying that this book should be turned into a limited series so that the characters can really be developed and get the depth that they deserve. however, if it was turned into a show, i do think that a show would not do this book justice. i feel like show makers and the film industry would try and change the story too much in order for it to last longer and therefore get more money. the only story change i think would be appropriate is Monique's. she's the second narrator of this novel but her story isn't as developed enough. it felt like she was only put there in order to get to evelyn's story. a story was kind of thrown at monique. with all that said, the novel is well written, but if someone's going to have their story included in the book, i think it should be well developed
Tbh I don’t think a movie would do out Justice. There’s so much that happens in this story it’s definitely worth a 7-10 episode series on some streaming platform.
I think I loved this book a little too much to the point where I could not put it down haha.. My favourite character is obviously Evelyn because who would not like a strong and ambitious female protagonist right?? I think it would make an amazing movie , so yes!!
I absolutely loved this book! Each relationship was complex and felt so realistic. I love how it touched on the grey area of people and how not everyone is truly good or bad. My favorite character is Harry because he was so supportive and just the definition of a good friend in my opinion.
I would love this to be a movie!! I could totally see Karen Gillian or Anya Taylor Joy casted as Celia.

I loved this book. It was perfect with a mix of everything. My favorite character is harry definitely and Evelyn herself. Did anyone say movie. I'M UP! HELL YES
I would love this book as a movie.
My only issue would be if they didn't have Evelyn's story as flashbacks, and when Monique figured out that Ev was going to 'take charge' we didn't get an awesome super sped up video of her standing in the subway.
Also the casting: if we do not get a sweet girl-nect-door Celia or a goofy smiling Harry I will be very sad.
This book has so much potential, what with the darker themes and the struggle with being gay in the 1960's.

I like Evelyn's character but i think Monique over reacted. Bit when she found out about her father cause it's not ev's fault it's Harry's and don't get me wrong i love harry but still
I'd rather have it as a limited series, produced well. I know Reese Witherspoon's production company is adapting Daisy Jones and the Six and I think both these novels would do great in this format.
If this were to be made into a movie, I would not go to see it. I needed something to read that was not too "heavy", was not thought provoking. This served the purpose. Many would like this book and re-read it, I would not.
This book had me properly hooked. I don't normal get overly emotional about books (maybe because I usually read thrillers) but this one really got into my head. Favourite character has to be evelyn, she is so honest about her flaws and doesn't hide away from the fact she made lots of decisions she wouldn't necessarily repeat if she had her time over. Biggest negative about her character was her sceptical outlook on life. I can't help thinking if she could have had the same positive attitude that Celia showed as times, they could've been a real force for good in term of LGBT+ rights.
It would make a good film although I don't know how you'd accuracy portray Evelyn's gritty down to earth honesty.

I love love love this book. Evelyn Hugo was great and she turned out to be exactly as I imagined celebrities of the sixties to be. I believe it would make an awesome movie.
I just finished reading it and I really liked it. I also liked the character of Evelyn Hugo, her determination to succeed and doing whatever it takes to achieve it. It's something that not everybody would like to do but who are us to judge if someone has a very clear goal in life. I think the sentence that reads "nobody deserves anything. It's simply a matter of who's willing to go and take it for themselves" summarizes very well her life.
Apart from Evelyn, I liked to see how the Hollywood of the sixties worked. I don't want to do spoilers but can imagine that many of the events described in the book have happened in real to other actors and actresses.
I also think that this could be movie-material or even tv-series-material. Let's wait and see...
