I think so because Kit was into education and had been a bit more buffered by Dylan and Josie from all the outside forces that messed with them but their lives would have been entirely different regardless because of all the baggage that Josie carried. I think Josie would still have encouraged Kit and taken up the slack with their mother so Kit could fulfill her dreams.
