How to post a new request

Hello! I am not seeing the “+” on the “unread” discussion. I have verified my email, so I do not know why it won’t let me add a comment. Any ideas? I really need to find this book I have in mind. Thank you!

Delaney, it sounds like you're using the Mobile App. On our group's homepage, scroll down to and tap the Discussion Group called "UNSOLVED: One specific book". You might need to tap "See All Discussions". Then "+" Create a Topic/Thread button will appear at the bottom-right corner.

The Mobile Website is even better. There's a "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page which allows you to use all of the group features. The Mobile App is the most limited version of Goodreads.

Hello, I keep trying to post in the UNSOLVED discussion. My email is verified and I believe that I have followed all of the rules, but I keep getting this "1 error prohibited this topic from being saved: please try again later".
I am using my desktop, and im not sure what I am doing wrong.

If you're using the App (actually, not recommended for Groups) and the Unsolved folder doesn't appear on our Group's home/ first page, try tapping "See All Discussions" at the bottom of the page.

Click the small "edit" link after the header/ topic title. This only works on the full Desktop Website.

If you using the Mobile Website (not the App), scroll down the page and tap "Desktop version", then the edit link will appear.

I am unable to create a new topic, my account is verified and I get as far as completing the topic, but every time I try to post it, it says to try again later. Have been trying to the last hour.

What is the exact error message you see? For example:

"Page Not Found
The page you requested doesn't exist. Please check the url again, or visit the home page."
-- This error message actually means the header/ topic title you tried to save was too long.

How long is your header? Cut out a few words and see if it will post.

A header title needs to be 255 characters or less. Spaces and punctuation count towards this number.

i’ve been trying to post a new topic under UNSOLVED: one specific book and i’ve been getting an error that says “Please try again later”. my email is verified and my topic is under the 250 limit. i am using desktop. how can I get around this? thanks.

You Can only post 3 topics on goodreads a day.

Have you verified your email address by clicking the link in the Goodreads email found in your Inbox or Spam folder?

Another common problem is typing a topic header that's too long. The error message might say: "Title is too long (maximum is 256 characters)" -- when you're creating a new thread.

If you've read this book, you can post a request. Try to include things like:

- Around what year did you read this book?
- Genre: For kids, teens or adults? Romance, mystery, fantasy, scifi, nonfiction, etc.?
- Try to describe the scene involving the quote (e.g., characters, location, time period, mood of the scene, etc.).
