Tammy | 204 comments I'm thinking of counting The Star Side of Bird Hill by Naomi Jackson. It seems to be commonly billed as "coming-of-age", and takes place in Barbados. If anyone has read it and can comment on if they would count it, please let me know!

Meredith | 39 comments In case anyone's looking for a graphic novel to fulfill this task, this has just come out and has a Kirkus star to boot! Himawari House

Octavia Cade | 139 comments I read If You Could Be Mine by Sara Farizan for this, and really enjoyed it. It's set in Iran.

It's also the last task for me! Have finished Read Harder 2021 now, and I'm looking forward to the 2022 list.

Heather (hganshorn) I've just starting reading The Silence of Bones by June Hur, and it's really good. Historical mystery about a 16-year-old girl in the early 1800s who is an indentured servant to a police force in Korea. She has to solve the murder of a noblewoman who may have been murdered for her illicit relationship with a scholar, her secret Catholic faith, or some other reason. Really recommend if historical mysteries are your thing.
