I'd love to - I've been wanting to read this book for so long but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I live in Sweden and I'd prefer reading it in Swedish although there's no problem for me reading it in English either. However neither is available which is so strange. The old edition in Swedish is not even available at the library any longer and I can't find it as an e-book. I'll keep trying and look for it at online second hand book shops but I haven't had any luck yet.
Hello Nike! I'm not sure if Amazon is available to you but I saw they have an ebook and audio version. You can get the actual book as well. I hope you're able to get ahold of it somehow!
I'm excited for this one! I read it once before for school and it has had a lasting impact on me. Ive been wanting to reread it and see what I take from it now that I've experienced more of the world.
I’ll be reading along. I haven’t read it before and never realized I didn’t know what exactly it was about until I read the description. It sounds very sad but I’m glad to be reading a classic.
This will be my first read for this group. I've never read this book before but it's been high on my list. This looks like a super busy group so I'm trying to remain focused and not get too overwhelmed. :)

They have plenty of copies but ... just before Christmas all the libraries including the ones at Universities were closed down totally. Earlier it was restricted, one could get in and borrow books but not hang around. Now the situation has gotten worse here so now I have to wait and see, new regulations will be presented on monday.
Otherwise I will look it up on Amazon (although I'd prefer to boycott Amazon). =)
I started reading last night and I'm loving it so far (have read the first 5 chapters). It's my first time reading it and I'm excited to finally tackle it as it'd been in my TBR list for a long, long while.
Hi there. I’m new to this group and this book is new to me. Maya Angelou has impressed me since the day I heard her recite her poem, “On the Pulse of the Morning,” at President Clinton’s inauguration. I even had the opportunity to hear her speak in public one time when she came to Orlando, where I live. For some reason, though, her books always seemed to remain inexplicably just below the threshold of “currently reading” for me. This challenge gives me an excuse to push one of her most well known books to the top. That said, I’m kind of maxed out on how many simultaneous books I can read, so as soon as I finish one, this one will be next. That should happen within a few days.
Typo correction... in my comment just now, I meant to say “speak in person”, but posted “speak in public”.
I'm joining in for this read! I remember during secondary (high school) we did a few of her poems for our English Literature course and I remember just falling in love with her poetry. This will be my first time reading her autobiography.
I'm super excited to read this one! I've never read anything by Maya Angelou before but I've a lot of good things about her autobiography.
Just started the audio version of this, Maya reads it herself. This is my first time reading any of her books. So excited!
I will be joining in on reading this book. This will be my first time reading a book my the author. Maya Angelou's heritage and the title of her autobiography interested me in wanting to read it.
It’s been a very long time since I read this and I don’t have any memories of it. But I do remember seeing her Eve. She came to speak to my university about 15 years ago. She did an amazing presentation! She was an amazing very quotable and a great mentor!
Just borrowed this today! I’ve been meaning to read this for a long time so I’m excited to join in :)
I have just joined this group; I've never read anything by Maya Angelou and can't wait to start reading this today. I am so excited about it!
I'm new to this book and this is the first group pick that I'm reading. I recently started the audiobook version that's read by the author. Enjoying it so far! I like her reading voice. As a bonus, this book is one of the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, a list that I'm very slowly chipping away at.
Glad that I’m back! I haven’t read along in a while and I’m enjoying this one so much. It’s really triggering and I feel I’m not even at the big moments yet. Very very good book.
I will be purchasing I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings for my personal bookshelf. Maya Angelou's writing has been golden for me (and emotional at times).
