I haven't created the 2019 list yet, I'll see what I can do about that...

Edited to add: the 2019 sheet is now available, please feel free to add yourself.

The permissions issue I retired to fix but am uncertain whether it worked. I will look into it more on January 2.

The 2019 tab appears to be very different to the others. Did @Bonnie or @ Caitlin or another moderator update this? Are we allowed to start using it?
Also I'm just wondering when the 2019 Challenge counter will be added.
Yup Eager Beaver here; I'm about to go off grid for a couple of days and want to get everything up and running asap is all :)
Apologies if this appears twice, my PC is doing something odd.

Hi Sam, the 2019 list should be almost identical to past years; at least at the beginning of the challenge. Is there something specific that has changed?

Additionally the 2019 countdown challenge >should be available already on the main page. You will have to make the shelf and assign it yourself.

Edit: I see the problem, the challenge will start January 1, as books read before then don't count. If you would like to get a head start on choosing the books for the challenge, make your shelf and get going. The challenge will require you to assign a shelf anyway and the shelf doesn't have to be new.

I am on vacation without my laptop personal computer until the 2nd and so I may be missing something obvious.

I will check again on January 2 from my computer and fix anything I notice as having gone away.

Audrey (ttrivium) | 47 comments Thank you, Caitlin! I appreciate your work on the spreadsheet!

Here's to hoping I'll do better this year than last!

message 55: by Sam (new)

Sam | 69 comments Thanks Caitlin, it must be a timezone thing. The tab I can see still looks VERY different. For example no percentages and it has 'Potential book' 'Date read' 'Author' and 'Title'. There is however a copy of the 2018 tab in the file, so I was wondering if this might be the problem. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your break. Ta for your efforts as always.

Hi Sam, time zone for the spreadsheet shouldn't matter, as it's hosted on Google Sheets and isn't tied to times. Is there a way for you to share a screenshot of what you're seeing with me? LMK if you need an email or other way to contact me for that.

ALL It looks like we may have had people editing over each other again. I can't examine in detail until 1:00 UTC January 3rd, so I would recommend not adding anything on the live copy until then as I will probably have to roll back your changes. I will do my best to preserve things but, no promises, k?

IF YOU ARE USING A LOCAL COPY - do whatever you want.

IF YOU ARE NOT USING A LOCAL COPY - please remember to be respectful of all spreadsheet users, and NEVER edit something you did not add to the sheet yourself. If this means you're in column ZZZ, it means you're in column ZZZ. If you want to be in column D and it's taken? CREATE A LOCAL COPY.

Sam | 69 comments Thanks Caitlin. I'm on my phone at the moment so can't check it right now. As soon as I can I'll have another look at it :)

Sam | 69 comments Hi Caitlin
Finally got to a PC and it's all fine now. Though Of course I'm all the way at the end now - lol. Though I'm rather amused by my column being AH - 'AH! The element of surprise' ;)
Thanks as always for all your hard work.

daniela (daniela_nieblina) I'm confused as to the spreadsheet? I notice the message above states he's in column AH, but there's nothing beyond column D. I was going to add myself after Zoe, however it's read only. I understand it was locked to prevent people from deleting columns, but I wonder when I'll be able to add myself.

Meg (meginfrance) | 24 comments Does a link help you?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

It shows entries up to AI.

I hope this helps.

Hey Daniela, it seems like one of the links is not the right one. I'll see if I can resolve that today.

EDITED TO ADD:

Wow, I have been looking at/editing the wrong spreadsheet the entire time. All of these comments make so much more sense now.

Serves me right for trying to work on things from my mobile phone.

Using the link Meg provided or the one in the group description should take you to the right place.

daniela (daniela_nieblina) Thanks to both of you!

Just added myself in. I'm the one in what I hope resembles the "color of the year".

Hi Fiona!

One of the links to the spreadsheet is not really working properly. Try this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

And if you still can't add yourself, let me know!

bamaace83 | 1 comments I think I just added myself to the spreadsheet for the group. I've been doing my own sheet but realized that I could add them to the big one. I'll have to add in my plan for books later. I'm using blue when I'm done. :)

I have my own spreadsheet because I'm doing two challenges and keeping track of my reading throughout the year as well, but I update the group spreadsheet every time I have a new read book.

Sam | 69 comments So to add pressure to everyone (sorry by this thing is what's distracting and keeping me sane as fires surround my property - please let it rain, hard heavy and without lightning), when will the 2020 page be added to the spreadsheet? :)

I'm WFH today so let me pull out my personal computer at lunch and get it updated.

Spreadsheet now has a 2020 tab: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Remember that if you want to edit more than the column with your picks, you should make a copy for your own Google Sheets account and edit the personal copy.

I have linked directions on how to do that in the spreadsheet

Sam | 69 comments Apologies Caitlin and Bonnie. Yet another Spreadsheet maintenance request. Someone has deleted the percentage formulas in the 2020 sheet for the 1st category. I would try and fix it, but I'm worried I'll make it worse :/
Also because I'm a total stats nerd/sad-case would it be possible for you to fix the percentages in Column B and C, so that those of us past the first page can see what the percentages are when we view our own column?
Thanks as always :)
