Yet to Shaz. Hoping to get ideas from our group here:)
I've been struggling with this challenge this year - I've read lots of books but haven't seemed to finish any series yet. I just finished a new book by Jennifer Ashley in her Mackenzies series, (The Sinful Ways of Jamie Mackenzie), and when i got to the end, I saw Ms Ashley's now dividing the series up into three smaller series: The Mackenzies and McBrides (Victorian era), the 18th century Mackenzies, and now the new series, Edwardian era Mackenzies.
So I realised I have finished a series this year, way back in May, actually. Phew! I have read all of the Mackenzies and McBrides (Victorian era) - all 8 books and three novellas LOL. I'm part way through the eighteenth century series, and am not going to count the Edwardian series as there's only one book out yet.
At least I got one series done!
I was going to read the MacLachlan Family by Lisa Carlyle which was 4 books . Now the series has increased to MacLachlan Family and Friends. So do I need to read 4 ๐for the series or the whole family and Friends. ๐ค
Shaz wrote: "I was going to read the MacLachlan Family by Lisa Carlyle which was 4 books . Now the series has increased to MacLachlan Family and Friends. So do I need to read 4 ๐for the series or the whole fami..."Ha ha. Yes, I know what you mean. Similar to me with the Mackenzies. IMO just the four would be OK for the MacLachlans. Not sure what others think? Series that have later add-ons can be tricky.
Debbie, whatever is easier for you. I usually avoid long series because it might become a chore for me to finish the series. If it's an ongoing long series like the Mackenzies then I'm okay with that, because I get breaks while the next book is being written.

Congratulations to you, and everyone else, who tackles these long series! Really takes a lot of dedication. Bonus points to you all :)
Shaz wrote: "I have just started a new series by Grace Burrowes. The Windham Brides. Four books so not to bad."I've read and liked a couple of those. I should try the others.
Cath wrote: "Congratulations to you, and everyone else, who tackles these long series! Really takes a lot of dedication. Bonus points to you all :)"Thanks Cath.
I finished 9 series this year. A few of them only needed 1-2 books read in order to complete. I'm one shy of finishing Pennyroyal Green, but that'll have to wait until next year. I'm closing out my challenge for 2021. December is always a tough month for time and I usually never commit to BRs, ARCs, etc. I'll consider that as I contemplate 2022 challenges.
